This is a nightclub night more like a rave that has no age limit as does not sell alcohol (or didn't may have some systemnow to keep away from kids as far as I no id does not)
Was set up origonally by parents who used to be ravers who still wanted to go out as part of culture but wanted somewhere safe and responsible for the kids to.
Basically a rave trance night for families where parents can go out and have fun and the kids can come too.
Like being at a festival not a church do...
Is there anywthing else like this for friends wotu kids or where we can bring friends with kids on nights out.

Understand about the babies... have worked in a toy shoop and the said that...
Ask them...
The kids had a laugh was they had giant balloons and the glowsticks were popular.
note sure on babies ... though for piece of mind I would want the kid to know that nothing goes in their mouth (ie smarties if you get the drift) that parents don't check first.
Most are responsible but like anywhere you keep to watch and have kids who were not stupid sso even though they say babies ok Id ask them for advice.
contact details are there.

Also I would want kids when they get into teens to be part of ciommunity sub cultures like the metal scene, goths, alternative types, ravey tyyopes etc...
As opposed to chv and redneck bars...
As these groups teach you to look after one another... If I fell down in a moshpit, 5 would pick me up and see if I was ok...
No gang attiudes... and often responsible interestes in the environmanet...
Sure beats being exposed to gang lands and culutre where respect and being hard is popular...
As said went there and what it struck me was like a sort of church dance with the kids crossed with hippie ravey festival. Where the music was what matters...
Being nice to others, developing creative ideas and a creative culture and positive role models.
Whilst the church etc calls little kids bastards, tortured girls in magdelen laundries

Children love it, the balloons, the free face-painting, the lights, the friendly stewarding style. Café Teez provides a relaxing space and offers organic juices, mineral water and hot drinks.
Whirl-y-Gig is free from the usual barriers and prejudices. It is a place where people can be themselves and feel connected to a shared higher vision. The stewarding is caring and respectful with a philosophy rooted in community and the music although exciting and high energy, is non-aggressive and celebratory promoting messages of world peace
Children are more than welcome at Whirl-y-Gig as long as they are supervised at all times by a parent or approved guardian (and its free to under- 12’s).
Whirl-y-Gig’s motto is “music and people of all ages and places”; this is a place where young and old alike can enjoy the freedom to express themselves in a community environment

Mary summed it up as It s about respecting all people including children. We’ve frequently been pressurised to have a bar but you can t legally sell alcohol at night and have kids around This is also one reason why, curiously, they always choose town halls as venues, where, unlike normal nightclubs, children are allowed. Another reason is having more autonomy, as Richard explains:
They allow us to run all aspects of events ourselves, we don’t have to have conventional security, and, as we are into humanistic ideals, we feel town halls are much more in the spirit of the community.
Whirl-y-gig began 20 years ago as a party run by a voluntary organisation called the Association of Humanistic Psychology.
