It is all determined by each state in America. Most states require the the student driver is at least 16 years old. Some states allow 14 year olds to drive tractors on the farm only.
Many states have also adopted a graduated licensing system where the new driver starts with a learners permit and can only drive with a licensed adult in the car. Then they move to a provisional license which may have restrictions on driving in daylight only (or directly to/from work at night) and placing restrictions on underage passengers in their car. When they turn 18, they can get their regular drivers license.
In the UK, the minimum age for driving a car/motorcycle is 17 years and a medium sized vehicle is 18 years

For a vehicle, 17. Please enable's kill this concept this is going as much as 18. The hearsay has been around for approximately 50 years (actually) and it shouldn't happen. at present the DSA (utilising standards agency) are ending up a public consultation to evaluate techniques of convalescing the united kingdom utilising attempt as a thank you to reducing the damaging twist of destiny fee of youthful and green drivers. yet they are not thinking elevating the legal utilising age. in the event that they did, for any reason, confirm to enhance the age, there might must be an Act of Parliament - this might take years and there may be a extensive quantity of exposure formerly it grew to grow to be regulation. while you're at present no older than 10, you're secure!

It depends on the state in the US. Generally 16, but in Idaho, for example, you use to (still?) be able to get a day permit at 14.
