No reason to worry about bursting if you don't fill the bags to their absolute capacity. Leave a half inch or so of space under the zipper. Any increase of volume from water freezing will first fill out the contours of the bag even before this space is filled. Remember, the bags are flexible, not rigid.

I use Ziploc bags to freeze individual hamburger patties, sauce, blueberries, etc. I have never had a problem. I just let the air out before I zip it up. Always been fine.

Ziploc makes bags specifically for freezing stuff. That should work perfectly without flaw. I have them, and they are very sturdy.

You should be OK as long as you leave some room in the bags for expansion when it freezes.

They make a product designed for freezer jam. I don't know what it is. Try googling it.

Yes I use it for hod dog sauce and broth off my roasts. just leave a little room for when the juice freezes. happy eating

They work for sauces and other liquids, just leave some room for expansion
