Cause your body was use to them once a drug like that is put into your body for a long period of time it gets used to it and ends up being apart of it you need to stay on a good regiment with your body drink lots of water it'll probably take awhile for all the drugs to get out of your system so now your body has to adapt to not having them in your blood stream it'll get better just give them time to get out. and you should feel better than. Good Luck

Sounds like you may be going through withdrawl symptoms. How long have you been off your meds? You should start to feel better after a week or 2, once your body gets readusted to being without that chemical in it. You may want to check with your doctor about the dizziness, could be serious. As for lack of sleep, try exercising, especially later in the evening, it will get you tired and help you to sleep better.

depending on the type of medication you were on.. no you are probably not addicted, per se... however your body may be experiencing a type of withdrawal if you just STOPPED your medication. your body was used to this drug and if you abruptly stopped taking it your body is going to experience some changes. it would've been better if you had decreased the milligrams of your medication until you were on a low enough dose to stop, and you should be doing this with a doctor...

also... although you may feel good now, it is possible for your depression to reoccur. especially if you stopped taking your meds b/c you thought, "oh i feel better i don't need them"... when in reality the medication may have been the very reason that you do feel better...

i hope you continue counseling at least once a month (with or without medication) and i recommend that you see your psychiatrist to discuss the side effects of coming off of whatever medication you were on.

Hello!
I have been on and off Zoloft for a number of years for depression, but mostly panic and anxiety attacks. I found that the last time I came off of it, I was weaned off too quickly and experienced mostly the dizziness. You should probably speak with your doctor and make him/her aware of your symptoms to find out if that is the case for you, or if you may be experiencing some other problem. Good Luck!

If you quit taking them gradually, your body will not suffer. Stopping cold turkey gives your body withdrawals and is also very dangerous to your health. Call your pharmacist and ask him. He will tell you the same thing. Just decrease the medication more and more each week, then go off. See your doctor if you have any questions.....)(

Your doctor will tell you that most antidepressants med's, Prosac, etc need to be GRADUALLY reduced.

You NEED to talk to your doctor, not ask Yahoo troll for serious medical advice, IMHO.

But I quit cold turkey to a few years ago with a couple of days my body freaking out.

BUT ASK YOUR DR!

You don't want to pass out at the wheel, etc.

You really need to take your question to your doctor, he's the only one who would know for sure. Every body is different, but if you feel so bad you might need different pills, or a different dose of the ones your taking.

Wow!!!!! You are lucky that this is all that is happening. Thankfully it isn't any worse. What you shopuld do is just take vitamins and do all you can to get better. You should sleep allot because anti depressents mess up your brain chemestry and sleeping is a way to help your brain try to get back to homeostasis.

Did you wean yourself or did you quit cold turkey? If you went cold turkey, you body is probably missing the chemical that has been supplied to it for so long. You might want to contact your health professional on what to do about it.

It depends on what med you were taking. Some of them are addictive so you need to wean yourself off with a doctor's assistance. Could be that you med is one of them. Call your doctor to find out what you need to do.
