She's just being a cat. I've seen my kitties do the same thing..Pick up a peice of kibble and eat it. Some kitties just have weird quirks. Just be happy that you have a well mannered cat!!!!

Maine Coon cats pick up their food with one paw and eat whenever possible. Possibly a survival technique developed in the wild.

I had a cat that did the same thing she just didn't want to get her face in the bowl, she taught her kittens to do the same thing.

probably a learned behavior from her mother or siblings It can be a messy thing so put the food bowl on a tray and in a corner to minimize the flinging effect Cheers Jane

this is just an educated guess but i bet it goes back to when they hunted and ate with their paws--i think its cute though i had one that dipped her dry food in her water dish and, i had on that would take it off the dish put it on the mat and then eat it.

she is unique.. and watches you but she dont have utensils so for her it is easier to fanagle the food to her mouth.. instead of eating from mouth.
