they don't all deny this

The Bible was originally written in early AD several hundred years after Jesus was alleged to have been crucified. At the time, dinosaurs were completely unheard of so they received no ink in The Bible.

Hard line, fundamentalist Christians believe The Bible is a complete and literal history of the world. Thus, many will claim the dinosaurs were fabricated by evil men, claiming to be scientists, in an attempt to destroy Christianity.

---It's funny. The whole "God didn't say how long a day was" argument. It's common sense kids. A day is simply defined by one rotation of the Earth. When "God" created the Sun has absolutely no bearing on the length of a day. A day is still 24 hours or the time it takes for the Earth to make 1 rotation.

So the contention that the real, geological age of the Earth is somehow documented by The Bible is ridiculous. Seven days is still 7 days.

I am a "religious type" and the following is what I believe about dinosaurs:
The Bible account in the first chapter of Genesis states the general order of creation. It allows for possibly thousands of millions of years for the formation of the earth and many millenniums in six creative eras, or “days,” to prepare the earth for human habitation.

Some dinosaurs (and pterosaurs) may indeed have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made “flying creatures” and “great sea monsters.” Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch. The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time.—Genesis 1:20-24.

When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when. We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake, no product of evolution. That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links, is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time. Thus, the fossil record does not support the evolution theory. Instead, it harmonizes with the Bible’s view of creative acts of God

I don't think any deny that dinosaurs existed. But there is an 'extreme' group of creationists who believe that man and dinosaurs co-existed. They've even built a museum with exhibits to 'prove' it. They also believe that Noah's flood created the Grand Canyon etc... basically that the bible is a true accurate historical record and that the earth isn't really millions of years old after all.

it will be through faith, yet undergo in ideas that even if that is it isn't all religions, i'm a Baptist Christian and that i do bypass by using what the King James Bible says and that i do believe and comprehend that dinosaurs have existed and are stated in the bible. the version is that we believe God created each and every thing right away and that dinosaurs and guy have lived together, and he made Adam and Eve to assist call and to take care of all the animals (such as dinosaur). even if that is a Christian or some faith that is going by using the bible than of route they did not study the bible demanding adequate, certain the information Dinosaur isn't in the Bible yet that doesn't advise dinosaurs did not exist, they fairly are stated in the bible yet are defined otherwise and were said as ''the excellent Behemoth" (which ability large kingly beast), or were referred to as Tannin, also in case you study and study the bible lengthy adequate, you'll discover that multiple the persons even said them as being Dragons or were even Dragons which have existed. So certain Dinosaurs existed. Sorry if i wrote too a lot.

by "religious types" do you mean christians? i went to a christian school and we discussed dinosaurs and the theory of evolution and neither were considered nonsense.

however, when we asked about things like cain's wife and why there was no evidence of "christians" acting on jesus's statement that rich people cannot get into heaven (the camel and the eye of the needle thingy) we were just given excuses and no answers.

also, i still can't agree with jesus's statement that we should always obey authority. this was the excuse, apparently, of many nazis during WW2 - "we were just obeying orders"....... admittedly, this is an extreme example...but what about the tank driver who killed that student during the tiananmen square demonstrations...he obeyed his commanding officer's orders. what about soldiers today? drop that bomb on that village! yes sir!

gosh i really am waffling now, but i get your point that many people deny the existence of anything which is not checkable via the old or new testament. except cain's wife.

ok i will go now.

hugs

Actually very very few "religious types" deny dinosaurs existed. I'm one of those you would call a "religious type" and I'm very convinced that dinosaurs existed. Now many of us, myself included don't place blind faith in secular science of when they existed and believe that possibly the beast known as dinosaurs could have existed side by side with man. Their is science that will not be taught in a secular classroom that supports this. Also in the book of Job, there is mentioned a very large creature called a Leviathon. It could be hippopotamus or a crocidile but it is also arguably what we know today as some species of dinosaur.

On a side note. I'm Christian and believe in God's word that He created the world in six days.....six of HIS days, not my 24 hour day. A day for Him could be 24 billion of my years for all I know. It only matters to me that He created it. The time it took in my small mind is irrelevent.

I think what your getting at, if I am reading your question right, is that a body of religious people, not just Christians by the way, believe that life formed from the Divine, as in a God like entity.

To believe in the progression of the Dinosaurs, men and so on, is to believe in Evolution. Life forming from a natural scientific state rather than forming by the hand of God.

For some religious people, they can only wrap their minds around one explanation or another, Science or God. They choose God, which is their right.

As someone who tries to have faith, I believe in a "an omnipotent being", as in God, for want of a better word. However I also believe in the evolutionary process. Science for me is just another extension of my belief in God. Therefore, both explanations work for me. JMHO.

Hope this answers your question.

I am a christian yet I do not deny that dinosours existed on this earth. The earth has existed many millions of years before man first was placed here. God put all we needed here for our survival and for our advancement. The dinosours was needed for energy. So, it is not difficult to equate dinosours with religion, not for me anyway. Our measurement of time is vastly different from God's. We keep trying to use our little brains to understand that which is an impossibility. One day when we utilize all our brain function instead of the measly ten percent we are currently able to we may be able to understand much of what God does. Untill then, I am content to believe in HIm and love HIm as I know I am loved.

Don't know who you've been talking to, but I have yet to meet a religious person who denies the existence of dinosaurs.

Well, I consider myself a "religious type" and I think that dinosaurs existed. I have no problem with some combination of evolution and creationism. I can't tell you exactly how it happened and anyone who says they can is fooling themselves.
I think you should be careful using broad generalizations when you talk about "certain types" of people, whatever that "type" may be.
