The most common reason that people slice is because they get their hips through the ball a long time before their hands get through. When the hips rotate through too quickly (and they should get through just a half a beat before the hands do), the arms can't get around the upper body to square up the wrists. The wrists stay 'open' as you come through the ball, which pushes the ball to the right, and the angle on the club face puts the 'slice' spin on the ball. Try to time your swing so that the hips get through before the hands, but only just. It helps if you train yourself to snap your wrists through the ball at the moment of impact so that they are 'square' to your target. Think of it this way. When you grip your club, because your forearms are not touching each other, they make a small angle with each other. Imagine that the angle they make has a line bisecting the angle into two halves. That imaginary line should be perpendicular to your target at the moment of impact.

I have a slice problem too. It could be that on the downswing your left arm is over your right arm and not the other way around and the club face is open. Good luck!

[1]Always check your grip. [2] Try teeing your ball up a little higher than normal. [3] Don't try to kill the ball, take nice easy swings. [4] Keep your left arm straight. [5] Keep your left eye on the back of the ball.

1. too open a stance (close your stance by moving your left foot ahead of your right. meaning instead of keeping your feet parallel to each other, put the left foot so that it's about 2-3 inches in front of your right foot)
2. swinging out to in path (start off with a level back swing and turn your shoulders laterally. its not all about your arms. remember to turn into the ball)
3. shoulders opening up before your hips turn (your hips should accelerate first then followed by your arms. just like a baseball swing. feet planted, accelerate your hips and follow through with your arms)
4. swinging too fast for your skill level (try swinging easier. no need to kill it everytime. focus on basics and fundamentals first, as you progress you can increase your speed until you're comfortable with yourself)
5. not keeping eye on ball (pulling your head up too soon) Basic fundamental is always look at the ball always. when you lift your head up you should see your ball in midflight. if you look up then see your ball come into view, you lifted. keeping your head level from address to follow through. assume your head is the hub of a wheel. on your back swing your chin should touch your left shoulder and on your follow through your chin should touch your right shoulder. one easy motion.
