I've played in several fun tournaments with only 3 clubs. With 4 clubs I would use these for the following reasons.

1. Rescue club if you have one or a 3-wood. They would be used for putting as well. You should practice putting a few tiems with these. With the rescue club you might have to blade it if the club has too much loft.

2. 5-iron. This is a great club from 160 to 180+ yards out. I normally hit my 5-iron around 190 yards, but if I choke down an inch it takes about 15 to 20 yards off the shot.

3. 7-iron. This will cover the 120 to 160 yard range. Again by choking down on the club you can adjust the distance. I have more range with this club because I have more control with it.

4. 52 degree Gap Wedge. If you don't have a gap wedge then use your pitching wedge. This will cover anything around the green including bunker shots as well as from 120 yards in.

No matter what clubs you end up using you need to go to the range and hit them the distances you need to cover with each club. This is important so you know how much to choke down and if you need to hit a 3/4 shot.

Good luck

Fourteen isn't required, it really is merely the utmost. you should theoretically play with a 7-iron and not in any respect some thing else like Tin Cup, even if i does not recommend it. some very ordinary instruments in ordinary words contain a motive force, 3-timber, and three, 5, 7, and 9 irons, and evidently a putter. those have a tendency to be youngster's instruments yet you may sometimes discover an human being set like that. maximum club instruments will contain all that I reported, plus a three-9 iron, a pitching wedge, and infrequently a sand wedge. Woods for although reason have a tendency to be bought one at a time from some thing else even if you'll discover them in instruments from time to time. maximum probably in case you purchase a club set it isn't fairly 14 golf equipment. in case you want 14 it really is mandatory to get some extra.
