Try to go to a dentist ASAP. Meanwhile, take 800 mgs of ibuprofen [also known as Motrin and Advil]; take a dose every six hours, even if your pain is not as bad. This medication has anti-inflammatory as well as analgesic[pain relieving] properties; that's why it is so often prescribed for toothaches. WARNING: If you are allergic to aspirin, then you shouldn't use ibuprofen. If this is the case, take 1,500 mgs of acetaminophen [Tylenol, Panadol] instead, also every six hours. You may also try some OTC topical analgesic like Anbesol or Orajel, in addition to the pills I mentioned for further relief.

If you can't afford to see the dentist right away you can take an uncoated aspirin and place it next to the tooth. Let it dissolve and that will give you a little relief. You really will need to see a dentist though and possibly have the tooth extracted. I'd suggest you come up with about $100 and call around to see who will do it for that or less. Sometimes you can go to your local family services organization and get some help there. You have my sympathies. Nothing hurts worse than a bad tooth.

Please go to a dentist ASAP. I tried to deal with a tooth ache with over the counter pain killing gels and such and ended up getting very very sick. Short term Red Cross tooth ache reliever was the best. It taste horrible but it helps the pain better than anything else.
However I cant stress enough to get to the doctor. A tooth infection can get very nasty really quickly and move to other places in your body.
Best of luck

If you cant go to a dentist, then you need to rinse your mouth with warm salt water. Chances are you have an infection and the salt helps draw out the infection.
Good Luck.

See your dentist, maybe you have a cavity or an abscess. In the meantime, take some Ibuprofen (like Advil) to help with the pain.
