I have been dating my boyfriend for 10 months. For his b-day I got him a personalized gift, big card, & baked him a cake, etc.
For my birthday, I reminded him the day before, but he claims to have thought it was a day after and did not get me anything or attempt to make up for it.

Well.....are there other problems as well that you are starting to get uncomfortable with in the relationship? I don't think that you should base a break up strictly on just that BUT it definitely would ring a bell with me ( I would NOT be pleased either) you need to have a talk with him and find out just how serious the two of you actually are.....make a judgement from that....I mean, you hate to be the only one in the relationship that's doing all the giving and he's not putting his all into it! This will eventually cause resentment and anger, have the talk and hopefully things will turn out for the best for the both of you!

Dump him! While you spent time and money trying to salvage this relationship, he just sat on his *** and thought everything was fine. A boyfriend should put you on a pedistal and treat you as the special lady that you are, He doesn't care about you. Even thought I am in a longdistance relationship for over 2 years now, my bf still makes the effort to make me feel special. When he moved away, i felt my heart ache, but 2 months later, even the simple gesture of the flowers on my desk waiting for me when I get home. He even rearranged his schedule so that he could come home for the weekend of my 20th bday, even thought that cut into the time he could be home for last christmas. He makes me feel special, and yours should too. But then again, It could be a simple mistake- what was his sorry excuse?

Em yea if he can't pay attention to your day and you told him about it and even reminded him about it the day before... thats definately cause for dumping. He doesn't care about you. The guy I'm seeing right now, the day we met (before we were even dating) during a discussion my birthdate was brought up. He asked me out the next day- a week later we met up for dinner and over dinner I brought up how my birthday was coming up and he said "September 8th" .. he remembered the exact date. And its been 2 months and just last week he mentioned the exact date again. You guys have been going 10 months and you even reminded him. I told this guy ONE time. In the middle of a party and he can't stop repeating it. What does that say??

He's and inconciderate oath and doesnt deserve you..Your heart has already told you what to do and you just really dont want to listen to it any man who can forget your b'day and then not even make an attempt to make amends doesnt care for you or respect your feelings...As hard as it may be tell him you feel as is he doesnt love and respect you so you believe you need to seperate and see what else life has to offer you believe me there are some great men out there who will treat you like a queen and make you feel so special..Good Luck

I say dump him anyone who forgets your birthday is just a complete jackass. Now my boyrfriend went to work on my birthday and borrowed money out of his paycheck to get me a really nice outfit and a necklace. I thought this was just really sweet. So dump the jackass who forgets your birthday okay thats all I have to say

Dump the loser, but do him one better. Just stop contact. When he calls you, claim that you never had a relationship and ask him who the hell he is and why is he calling you.
