I am a dermatologist, and the answer generally is no. the blister is a natural band-aid, if you pop it you will allow bacteria to come into contact with the eroded skin and increase the chance of infection. Sometimes blisters are so big that you cant wear a shoe or it interferes with daily life, in that case get a sterile needle and gently lance the blister to release the fluid, but do not tear off the roof of the blister! Allow it to drain and immediately bandage the wound with antibiotic ointment. Hope that helps!!

If you can manage to keep it intact, the fluid under the skin will eventually re-absorb and you won't end up with an open area on your foot which could get infected. If the blister is painful due to the pressure of the fluid under the skin, go ahead and pop it. Just make sure to keep it clean, as your foot can collect all sorts of germs. The last thing you need is an infection. I recommend bactine for cleaning it as it is a paine reliever and does not sting like alcohol, but if you don't mind pain, alcohol is wonderful. Keep it covered with a bandaid during the day while you are up and leave it open to air when you are in bed or just lounging around at home.

I pop them with a clean needle, then press the loose skin close to the foot and hold it there with a plaster (you'll want a plaster on it the next day anyway). The skin heals back in place and I don't have any more trouble. Just dont peel the skin off!

If you pop it, it is more likely to get infected and most likely it will sting & possibly grow back so you would have to do it all again.
You would be better off putting a plaster on it so it stays clean and free from infection, as long as your shoes don't rub against it, it will disappear in a few days

If blisters could scream, would we be so cavalier about popping them? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Best not too pop it. The serum inside helps to heal the soreness inside.

Popping it will make it hurt alot more, trust me!! Put some cream on it, and let it heal on its own (and that takes a while)

My husband's family always say not until after sundown for some reason. I think that it is a weirdo wife's tale. Who knows. Good luck.
