Try having one day where you eat more like on Sunday ... sometimes more food does kick-start the weight loss. Don't bing eat, but do something fun like pizza, or a big family brunch.
When you're dieting, you'r body goes into a rut, and a change need to occur for your body to react. Since you're controling calories and exercising, then you need to spice it up and try more calories to shake your body up.
Also, walking is the best exercise ... I strongly believe that we all need to be walking at least 3 hours a day ... which should be easy for most.

You may not be eating enough -- sounds funny, I know. You've lowered your calorie intake, yes, but because of the exercise, your body may be thinking it has to hold on to everything it gets because you're starving it. That's one possibility, anyway.
Try eating at the high end of your range - 1500 calories - and continue exercising like you've been doing (for a week or two) and see if that helps. Also, be sure you're drinking 8-10 glasses of water (seriously necessary for weight loss).
Another possibility is that you may also have hit a plateau - a weight loss "flatline". You'll need to do some things differently and will see a change. It's discouraging, yes, but you can make it through this!

If you're doing no exercise alongside your eating regime you're not going to lose any more weight. Your body will have entered starvation mode by now in order to conserve energy, and quite likely you'll have lost lean muscle tissue (yes, the heart is a muscle too) as part of the overall weight loss.
So start exercising too, it doesn't have to be anything exotic. Start by brisk walking, and build up slowly, keep a chart of how often you've gone in a week.
Add a financial incentive - put a coin of a certain value into a jar every time you go for a long brisk walk, and use the money at the end of the month to buy a CD for yourself. Maybe even save it over a few months and buy a nice piece of clothing for yourself.

Hang in there and don't get discouraged! When you decrease your caloric intake you will lose a few pounds to start.. but then your metabolism will slow down to make up for the fewer calories. It won't be long before your body will level off and you will start dropping more weight. The main thing is.. losing weight the healthy way does not happen over night. Stick to it and you will see the results you want. Good luck!

I've heard if you don't eat enough you're metabolism starts to slow down. You're body thinks it's starving itself and stores fat or something like that. I'm not an expert but I have heard this. Maybe increase your calorie intake a little (with healthy food though) and still keep up the exercise? I'd consult a professional though. Good luck.

I've done that too, and I found out that your metabolisim will slow down to compensate for the reduction in calorie intake, You can lose weight, but it'll take 6 months or more before your body will get used to that diet.

If you're not really overweight, is it just a shape cahnge you are after? you know, just generally toning up and nipping in the waist etc? Contact me via e-mail, I will explain how you can do this. You need to be careful, that if you continue to eat low cal you will begin to burn muscle tissue, which is not good. If you build a good lean muscle base, your body will burn calories quicker than if you carry a lot of fat tissue. Low fat, high protein is the way to go. Most people do not eat enough good, low fat protein in their diets.

Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY's Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don't get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don't get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !
