well i have been going to gym for 2 months now and this soreness started to appear after a month. I thought it was due to heavy weight lifting that my neck and face are getting sore and i left gym for that purpose but now the soreness feels its still there. in that case is water helpful ?

Depends on what the source of the soreness in the face and neck region is. You really should talk to your doctor or your dentist about it first, before trying a "remedy."

I once had an on-again-off-again numbness on the left side of my face and neck. My doctor traced it to my bad habit of sitting at my desk, resting my head on my fist to the side/below of the eye socket area, pinching a nerve for the facial muscles.

My mother has a problem with a calcified stone in one of her salivary glands. Every so often (about once a year) it'll move and somewhat block the duct, causing her face and neck region to get sore and swell up (looks like she has an egg hanging under her chin). To help prevent the salivary stone from getting larger and to hopefully pass it, she has to drink a lot of water daily, and stay away from most other beverages.

Not really sure if it helps the soreness but it can deplete you mineral supplies. There is a such thing as "too much water".

It might be your muscles. Talk to your doctor.
