Would you agree that in every religion put to date, that everyone has a different god. They had zues just to mention one, and he was supposedly great, doing "miracles" of lightning, poisedon, etc. Think of all the greek gods and their powers. Just like our god, they had great followers, and every time lightning struck, it was because zues was angry.
I truethfully like the statement that god is only as powerfull as the ammount of people who follow him. It shows us that once people stop believing, he will sieze to exist. In other words, he is a figure of our imagination, and when massive ammounts of people imagine the same thing, it can seem quite real at times.
Who agrees with me?

I think it's interesting how people of faith use the same cop-out "God gave you freewill to think whatever you want" That's such a load of Bologna to me it's unbelievable! No pun intended. I have never been able to stomach the idea of this loving God, who damns people to hell for not thinking how he wants people to think, despite his wonderful gift of 'freewill'. That's like saying "Yeah you can think how you want, BUT, if you don't think this certain way, you're going to burn in the fiery pits of hell reserved for those who don't conform." That's not exactly a very unbiased freewill is it? I think it's very naive to take everything in the bible as fact and truth, without questioning. When someone tells me "It's the word of God, so it must be true." I think "So much for freewill"
My opinion is that the only real difference between a cult and a religion is that religions are tax exempt. So in conclusion, I agree with your statement.
And to the guy below me: You actually believe that fairytale? *cough*brainwashed*cough*

What you say makes sense, but power is still power. When Pope John Paul II (God rest his soul), spoke to a crowd of 7 million people in the Philippines several years ago, no one died during the event. Out of that many people, that's something of a statistical anomaly. God can also be used as a weapon, say, to convince someone to fly a plane loaded with jet fuel into a building. Even an atheist should never underestimate the power of God.

Wherever two or more are gathered, there I am with you. That doesn't sound like a lot, but great things can happen.
I feel for you. I really do. I cannot disagree with you more. I think you are (unfortunately) like too many young people who have lost touch with God, and, as a result, have filled their lives with a lot of unholy stuff.
If you keep going the way you are going, you will have these questions that you cannot answer (a) who am I; (b) why am I here; and (c) what is the purpose for my life? People may joke around, but without God in your life, these questions never get answered.

First, learn how to use SPELLCHECK! Second, God is omnipotent regardless of the number of followers He has. A scripture says that through His power that "ten will put one hundred to flight and one hundred shall put ten thousand." With God, there's always strength in numbers!

God is omnipotent (all-powerful). That is one of His attributes. If everyone in the world believed in God or if no one in the world believed in God, He would still be omnipotent. He is not a figure of our imaginations, and He will not disappear if we cease to believe in Him. He is the great "I AM", and He will always exist.

There are way too many athiest dumbasses in this world and it pisses me off. God is not as powerful as the amount of beleivers he has. HE doesnt need us WE need him. HE only created us becuase he wanted people to love.

Why did you even say He exists in you question when you obviously believe He doesn't. Just because the people in N. Korea believe the U.S. is evil doesn't mean that's right, just because they believe it.

If this is what you believe about God, this is fine. He gave you the free will to believe whatever you want.
