Is there a good and free firewall for windows 98?

Try Sygate Personal Firewall. I've used it for the past 6 years and I think it works great.

Try Zone Alarm Free Edition, you can also get McAfee or Symantec.
(Avast for Antivirus, or AVG Free for antivirus)
