You need to have "Ouster" addressed in you groups charter.

If someone is elected to the board it would be un-wise to have any co-board members be able to vote some one out.

This is the case in government boards and councils. Most city charters are backed by state law and ouster provisions are in place.

If it is something like a local PTA then you most likely should amend you charter to allow for it.
