I mean, if you have to choose something (toaster oven, stereo, whatever) with a blue LCD screen or a green LCD screen which color would you prefer?

I'd definitely go with a blue LCD screen, and try to make it as high-contrast, or as dark, of a screen as possible. This makes it easier to read, and, in case any people you know are color blind, it will be easier for them to read, as green and red are generally the hardest colors to distinguish for a color blind person.

Blue....Indigo Blue. It's a happy, soothing, yet alive color. I see it better in the dark.
