Depends on your purpose.
Mountain Dew has the most caffeine of any soda (and in my opinion, it tastes great) and it's great for ice cream floats (caffeine and sugar!! Whee!).
7-Up is a better mixer if you're making alcoholic beverages.
Sprite is way too sweet in my opinion, so it overpowers alcohol and doesn't provide much contrast to ice cream.
And, really, other than getting a buzz, what's the use of soda?? (Well, ok, there's another use: if you overdo the alcoholic buzz, 7-Up by itself (or ginger ale) is good for settling an upset stomach.)

I like Sprite better, but my husband loves 7-up.
