Since it is so unbelieveably cruel to give birth to more children than one can support, let's tie aid to a country's willingness to stem overpopulation.

Leaders need to emphasize to their people that they are totally responsible for their own birth rate and to have more children than you can support is a crime against humanity

your view would be seen as racist within certain cultures and facist, because often times men with many wives and children signify power in their community. It is honored/revered in esp. African countries. I think it'd b better if first world capitalists learn to share their resources with poorer countries and somehow get good education programs in place to promote better quality lifestyle & health, hence less children. Imagine if the 1% of richest people in the world could share their resources with the 70 % who lives in poverty, then their would be no more poverty on the planet...

People give a lot more consideration to choosing a car than to deciding when to have children, or how many to have.

For decades, the United States warned China that it would never make any social or economic progress if it was always mired in the problems created by its huge population. China dismissed our criticism, and said the U.S. was trying to prevent it from becoming an important world power by diminishing its population.

China finally saw the light, limited the birth rate, and now their economy is booming.

Maybe it would be better if we just ate the babies, then we could end poverty and hunger at the same time. Plus babies are delicious.

I agree. But for some, they do not know how to control their own birth rate (Africa?) and for those, we'll need to educate them. This will create more jobs for educators (reducing unemployment rate) too.
