what does the bible say about masterbation? where can I find it in the KJV or NIV?

Im pretty sure there is a verse Genesis 38:9-10 saying it displeases the Lord to spill ones seed on the ground and not in a woman.
9And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
10And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.
This is not exactly an admonion against masturbation but it can be interpreted that spilling seed upon the ground is not the thing to do. It is important to realize in this verse that Onan was instructed by the lord to take is brothers wife, if i remember correctly his brother died.

It doesn't say directly about masturbation. You're just not suppose to over indulge in doing some thing. Masturbation is normal and is a way that you get to know your body. Everyone has done it because as you are maturing it is a normal thing to do. Nothing wrong with it as long as your don't think about your neighbor's husband.
You can think about me. I'm not married and I don't mind. It would be nice to know I brought some pleasure intro someone life.

The act of masturbation itself is not a sin and the Bible never says it is. It's the impure thoughts associated with it. If you can beat it and keep your mind on pretty pink ponies and fluffy kittens then have at it!

Also referred as the "Sin of Onan"; God wanted Onan to impregnate some queen and he "spilled his seed" and then God was pissed at Onan.
What people do not realize is that they think God was pissed at Onan for "spilling his seed", Not true. God was pissed at Onan for not getting the queen pregnant.
Even Dr. Ruth says masturbation is healthy.
