I am about 170lbs right now but i am a little concerned because i have gained about 7lbs in the past year. Is that normal at this age?

170-180 is about normal. 190 might be pushing but if you work out then it's acceptable

Firstly, see a doctor if you're concerned. I'm 6'4" 240lbs.. but i've been weight lifting for 3 years.. it's nothing for me to drop or add 5lbs in 1 week. That's me though, we aren't alike.. so again check with a doctor if you're concerned.

Any diet changes? Drink beer/alcohol alot in the past year? Could be a lot of things... I wouldn't be terribly concerned about 7lbs in 1 year. I'd say that 170 lbs is a little lean for your height, but if your dad or mom are lean and tall, then it's probably nothing to get worried about and can be attributed to genetics.. Talk to your doctor though, he may take blood to make sure you're okay on proteins, glucose, etc..

that's about right, maybe even a bit thin. I would say the average 6 footer is 180-200lbs.

I'm 6'1", and for me, 180 is considered healty and normal, so i wouldn't make an issue of it.
