It has happened before, and it may very well happen again. Chaco Canyon in the American South West was the site of an environmental disaster, and the final straw was, yep, cannibalism. This went down thus: a community in a delicate ecosystem grew too large, cut all the trees (over a couple hundred years,) and lost huge amounts of farming land. One big drought pushed the community over the edge and archeological digs find the chilling evidence: cracked HUMAN bones in the fireplace of several sites.
When a people can’t hunt or grow enough food, historically, they resort to cannibalism. Now, will this be the case in the next fifty years because of environmental conditions, I don’t think so. That is my gut response (is that in bad taste? Or that?) The question that is more important immediately is will there be any major wars fought over water in the next fifty years.

I cannot believe how bloody stupid you guys are,
Honestly, "global warming is made up by the media,, its just a myth"
Its all complete utter bollocks
Honestly, Global warming is happening and its happening NOW
We need to stop it soon
Seriously, if this is peoples reactions about global warming then the whole human race is even mofr f***ked than I thought.
It scares me, it really does, how you can think that a huge threat to humanity is not happening, its like saying that the Nazi Holocaust never happened, its ridiculous.
Moreover, NO of course we wont have to be cannibals in 50 years, what a stupid question, how do the 2 correlate at all?
Really, in fifty years we wont need to resort to Cannibalism.
Come ON !!!
I'm sorry about my rant but this stupidity over the idea that global warming isn't happening is so stupid that I HAD to say something
Another thing is that someone said Oil wont run out,
Well I'm sorry but YES IT WILL and could easily run out in 50 years, the thing is once we realise we have slightly less production then we'll stop using it, we'll have stopped using it long before its run out because when its starts running out then we'll have less and so will have to find alternate sources.
Oil WILL RUN OUT , AND IT WILL DO SO SOON.
There is only a limited amount of Oil because Oil is made from the remains of dead sea creatures from the Dinosaur era, there were only a limited number of these creatures,( obviously!) and so there is only a limited amount of Oil
I felt I had to show why the ideas like global warming not happening and Oil running out were wrong because they ARE SO SO SO STUPID !!!

The main reason for all our problems is overpopulation and in this light cannibalism would be an ideal way to keep our numbers under control without denying women their apparent `right` to have as many kids as they want willy-nilly. although I`d make the brats wash real good before they were prepared and cooked.
Actually no I wouldn`t like to eat people but then you wouldn`t want to eat a Dog if you have pets and a Pig is just as, if not more, intelligent than a Dog but we all eat a lot of bacon etc.
When you think about it, if you were really hungry you`d eat anything, Pig, Dog, Human, even Estate agent and they`re really disgusting.
Are you a cannibal at the moment and just hoping your hobby will become so popular as to legalise it?

Probably not because:
1. In 50 years, food technology will also improve.
2. Birth control will keep the population in check.
3. Cultural, Moral and Legal controls will keep such acts from taking place on a large scale.

No. First, I don't see global warming being an issue or causing any harm. Second, I hardly believe that would cause any sort of immediate panic. Cannibalism will be caused by something else. ;)
...like the deliciousness of humans or something.

Ok..i don't really see how global warming will contribute to a cause for eating each other...
if you are referring to the earth getting so hot that all the plants die, and everyone will be starving...well if its hot enough for all the plants to die, just what do you think will happen to all the animals, including people?
somehow i don't think all the question got asked in this case.

well first of all global warming is just a myth , perpetuated by the media upon the American minds. trying to get you to walk everywhere and save the gas (not that it is possible to run out) for people who have more important things to do then think about the foolish idea of global warming .

According to scientists, global warming is having that impact on polar bears already. Even though we cannot "imagine" human cannibalism, we have no way to conclusively dismiss this possibility. http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/science/06/12/polar.bears.ap/
Good Luck !

If it is you get to eat AL Gore. But you will probably have to thaw him out because they predicted acoming Ice Age back in the early 70's so it will probably be due to an Ice Age, Enjoy your Gorecicle.
