It is not a matter of belief-- global warming is a PROVEN FACT. The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has been rising steadily over the past century, and it has never been higher than it is today. CO2 and temperature are directly proportional, meaning, when CO2 increases, the global temperature also increases. Therefore, global warming does indeed exist, it is an IMMINENT threat, and if we don't act now, our entire human civilization is in danger. If you still are in doubt, see the movie "An Inconvenient Truth", and read the book "The Weather Makers" by Tim Flannery. I would also recommend that you read the Wikipedia entry on global warming.

Yes. Although the Earth does experience natural cycles of heating and cooling, the Earth is warming additionally due to human activity. The Greenhouse Effect is proven, where Carbon Dioxide which is emitted from human processes such as combustion of fossil fuels. This creates a Greenhouse effect in our atmosphere. This traps the air in Earth's atmosphere, causing it to warm. The intensity of Global Warming that we are experiencing may be due to a possible heating cycle which we are on, but in addition, the Greenhouse Effect, which causes large amounts of warming.

Global warming theory-- earth will slowly heat up, the ice caps will eventually melt and we'll all drown

If you're a Christian then the Bible has told us how the world will end. (Revelation)
No more water (or ice caps) but fire next time.
Armageddon will not involve the ice caps.

(Have you seen March of the Penguins? y'all remember how cold it was way down there?) For the temperature of earth to rise enough for the caps to melt, we will have already experienced temperature so incredibly much hotter than our average Texan-110-degree days, that we'll be dying by heat, or moving north in exoduses the magnitude and nature of those during Katrina.
Both scientifically and religiously, we're gonna burn before we get the chance to drown.

It has certainly been proving to be real.

Global warming

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans in recent decades.

The Earth's average near-surface atmospheric temperature rose 0.6 ± 0.2 degrees Celsius (1.1 ± 0.4 degrees Fahrenheit) in the 20th century. The prevailing scientific opinion on climate change is that "most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities" [1]. The increased amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (GHGs) are the primary causes of the human-induced component of warming. They are released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing and agriculture, etc. and lead to an increase in the greenhouse effect.

yes, i believe in global warming, but not necessarily as the fault of mankind. scientists have proven that the earth goes through warming and cooling stages quite frequently-most recently the litle ice age of the middle ages which is thought to have had an impact on the spread of bubonic plague, since so many were malnourished.

Global warming exists but it is not man made and there is nothing that we can do to prevent it.

For details, please refer to my previous best answer on this topic. I cite information from NASA, the Smithsonian, and National Geographic.

It was 3 months ago, on the 15th page of my best answers.

(I also responded to Al Gore's question on global warming, but he hasn't seen fit to reply. The snob.)

yes. There is no REAL evidence. We don't know if it's the natural cylcle of the earth or if it's something that humans are causing.

We are polluting our world. Even the ice caps are melting and causing the ocean to rise. No wonder we have these tsunamis.
