...then WTF was God doing for 4000 years? And, if Christianity, (which is the "only true religion") didnt exist until that point, what does that say about God?
Furthermore, if God is all loving and all forgiving, why was he so evil as to make the poor Israelites walk in a desert for 40 years as punishment?? I thought that if I beleived, I was forgiven - yet they were punished. He also slaughtered the children of his followers and commited many other acts that I hardly can define as compassionate or all loving.....

Response #1 - Im leaning towards giving you ten points - so you can buy an education! What teh heck are you saying here?? Response #4 - Jesus existed prior to the creation of the earth? Thats news to me - I thought he was born to a virgin about 2000 years ago. Never ceases to amaze me how you people can devise an answer for anything! How can a MORTAL MAN have exited prior to the creation of earth?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Pass that bong this way!

So let me get this straight - God creates the world and man, and gives us free will do choose over good or evil. We have FREE WILL to choose, however if we make the wrong choice, he is going to punish us. Then, after living a life of hell on earth, being punished for living a sinful life, Im going to be cast into Hell?? By an all loving God that forgives all sins? Am I the only person having a hard time wrapping my head around that concept? How can you say that he is all loving, all compassionate, and all forgiving, and then in the same breath say that he will punish you if you disobey him??

And, for the record, it is CREATIONIST (people who beleive in the literal translation of the Christian Bible) that say that the world was created 6000 years ago. I know how ridiculous that is....

I must say that this question and 1st answer seem to come from a complete misunderstanding of how things are. Do you really think that a Supreme Being would ever be offended by anything we might do to the point of wanting to punish us? Do you believe that time is of any concern to Spirit? Would a God create this earth or this universe only to test us? Would a true God ever need anything?

We have free will so that we can go forth and create whatever experience we desire. That is what the Creator intended. It is through our experiences that Spirit experiences life. My desire is that we all might begin to see a bigger picture of ourselves and our world.

Please stop looking for blame or doom and gloom. This life is a wonderful gift that we have the opportunity to share with each other. Let's make it beautiful and joyful and loving as it was intended to be. Focus on the love and let go of fear and anger and guillt and blame. We create whatever we focus on. What are you creating?

If a day equals 1000 years and 1000 years equals a day, then since Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, does this have significance for His Second Coming?

Let's see some things that really do seem to have significance, first of all from Ha'aretz "Small Quake Hits Dead Sea; Experts: Big One On The Way." And from Templemount.org "Israeli President asks Vatican to Reveal List of Temple Treasures, Vessels and Judacia they Hold."

I guess they had some things right there in the Vatican that they would like to know about and they would like to have. First of all,

the Rabbis said that there would only be seven days in world history because a day was like 1,000 years, Psalm 90:4, and it was patterned after creation. He created the world in six days, Genesis 1:31 and rested on the 7th day, Genesis 2:2. And since each day represents 1,000 years, and we Christians also set that according to II Peter 3:8, we then have four days of Old Testament time and three days of New Testament time for the total of 7000 years, So let's just deal with the three days of New Testament time.

Here is proof that this is correct, Hosea 6, verse 2. The Jews didn't have their own land for a couple thousand years and they say after two days, 2,000 years, He'll revive us - that happened in 1948, almost after 2,000 years, then on the third day which just started in the last number of months, He will raise us up that we may live in his sight, the Jews are raised in Daniel 12, when the Messiah comes and sets his foot upon the earth. Now here are two exciting signs that , They're expecting the greatest earthquake ever and it's right there at the Dead Sea fault and when Jesus Christ returns His Feet hit the Mount of Olives and it splits down the center and they say, we are waiting for that big one and that could be the return of Christ. But the most exciting thing, beyond that, is that the Jews are asking for all of the things the Vatican has from the old temples. Why? Because they have built the replica of the exact temple 269,000 square feet by the dead sea! And they are putting everything in it and getting all the Cohen's. For they are the Levites, they're prepared to do sacrifice so that when the real one is built, the one in which antichrist sits, 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and says he's god, Daniel 11:36, it will be ready. It's that close. Then Christ comes and sits in it permanently. Ezekiel 40 to 44.

Wow, sounds like mercy might be just what you need.
Should a parent not punish a child for blatently going against them? God may be loving but He is also just and since He is holy, He cannot abide by sin.
Is a parent evil for allowing a consequence that a child deserves?
You are totally neglecting the fact that God allows the natural consequences for human decisions. Keep questioning and asking Him the truth and don't let anyone sway you from it.
Study, try to prove Him wrong. Seek and you will find.

Without rereading your diatribe,,, Where in the world did you get your info from???

In case you or anyone else has completely disregarded the age of the planet, and its inhabitants, I suggest that 6000 years is like a moment in time.

The other thing I take issue with is the INVENTOR of Christianity. Jesus has been set up, as the Deity, beneath a GOD which Christians, and countless others believe in. He didn't Invent or create Christianity... Man did,and use Jesus as its basis. Jesus was a Jew,,no offense to them.

GOD only directs,,,suggests,,, and Expects that believers will trust, in levels of faith, to follow. I suggest you need to do more research,,,if you truly care,,,but know this. "Science" as it defines the age of the planet, and the species,,,is FACT. RELIGION,,,is TRUTH...as interpreted and accepted. Science may be disputed as well as religion, or faith, but it still stands hard, as FACT.

Scientifically, we know that Earth has existed for quite a bit longer than 6000 years (in actuallity, approximately 4.57 billion). One might say this provides sufficiant reasonabe doubt as to the existance of God, or at least the reliability of documents (like the Bible or Qur'an) claiming to relate true historical events involving him. Perhaps your questions would be better directed within yourself, or to your friends and family. For the many bad deeds in the world, there are also good.

If you will get into a Bible believing church and go to Sunday School or go to bible class you could get your questions answered. Jesus existed before the earth was created. Eternity past to be exact.

You will never understand the old testament until you understand the new testament. God loves you so much he sent his only son to die for YOU

Let me ask you something. If you have a job and you are insabordant, doesn't your boss get to the point to were you loose your job? Of couse he does. God is not evil, He does mean what he says, and will punnish people who do not obey Him. He is our creator and has that right. We are mere mortal, and He is almighty God. He has the right. He is the creator of eveything.
You can't just believe in God, you have to accept His son Jesus as your savior who died on the cross for your sins, and then ask Him for His forgivenss, and He will give it to you.If all those israleites had obeyed God, they would not have gone through what they went through for fourty years. They themselves through their stubborness went in circles for 40 years. If they had obeyed God, that would not have happened.

Unless you grow in your walk with Lord, after you have accepted Him as your savior, you are not intitled to a lot of the questions you have answers to. God will give you what you are spiritually mature enough to fully understand, the closer to are with Him. It will not happen over night. Obedience to God is the key to God's blessings upon you in life, as well as answers to questions you have for Him. We are not entitled to all our questions to be answered. WE are not God's equal and never will be.

HE didn't do that. He didn't kill anyone or hurt anyone, but he did remove his protective hand from them. They made the choice to sin, so they had to answer for their actions. God said that they would be punished if they went against his wishes, and God keeps his word.
