Treehugger.com is a lot of fun.

The Sierra club should have information and/or be able to direct you to more specific and detailed sites. Try Sierraclub.com. There are a number of facilities nationwide that have such sustainable architecture that you can visit as well as get design ideas from. In fact even Home Depot and Lowe's have jumped on this bandwagon and are likely to have some info. Good luck on your project.
