America is still a young country. 200+ years. However, go back well before that period in its history before it finally gained its Independence and observe the initial influx into the country, its expansion into the west and ongoing development and progression. Its population derives from races and creeds from many parts of the world (not forgetting slavery) For the most part it lives in harmony and mutual tolerance and always continues to adjust. Above all, its short history has developed its own independent thinking and way of life, its people not prepared to be bossed, bullied, pushed around or dictated to. Moreover, Americans don't take kindly to seeing other nations or peoples having to endure it either. Yes, there is something warlike in their nature and make-up. It made them a nation. It also gives hope today to oppressed peoples in many countries - in that America does and will fight for what it believes in!

Actually, like every other country, people in America on the whole are not warlike. We are average people trying to get through life, just like you. I don't think all Muslims are war like. Most of the world is filled with average, normal people. The leaders are the problem I think from now on if anyone declares war the leaders have to wrestle for points best of 7 wins.

I would have said War-Mongering. Well with GW at the helm.
They still haven't figured out that they'll probably never defeat Al Qaida, U can't drop a Nuke on all the Countries supposedly responsible for 9/11.
Half the world would B contaminated & dead.
So they hit out at others who R not responsible, but will do 2 pacify the People!

Americans, WARLIKE???? Ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa! Lmao You've got to be joking. Could'nt run a bun fight in a bakery that lot!
Only joking fellas. In truth I would say no. America has to me, always believed in freedom and will fight tooth and nail to preserve it. Ronald Reagan was in my opinion the greatest ever US president, and his intention to halt the spread of communism should be given credit. Too many people are too quick to focus on the more negative aspects of America and it's government.

I don't think most are warlike. In fact, I'd say most are just friendly folks.
I think people from other countries get the wrong impression from our current president.

Americans are very quaint and fierce in their minds, I am sure they are sweet and funny, not warlike. It sure tells on me apreciating friendship and family, I do not think at all americans wage their war, it only seems you like that karma and appeal, you do not get that at all.

I'm thinking you have probably only met a few Americans and are basing that decision on news bites from Washington and Hollywood movies.
Most Americans I know are rather ordinary.

We are not 'warlike.' We are willing to do what we think is necessary.
But I bet you cannot tell the difference.
