Wrong.
It is because we want to prevent the genocide of all non-Muslims in Israel.

The truth lies in between. Any Isrealis claiming Isreal is innocent is obviously bias, they are not innocent. Palestinians haven't done much the make the situation better either. It's a very complicated issue, and ANYONE who says one side is clearly the good guy and one is the bad guy is either seriously misinformed or extremely bias. Truth is, Isreal "started it". Truth is, Palestinians have added flame to the fire, and have often been unreasonable in negotiations. This has caused the Jews to add more flame to the fire, etc. It's a complicated situaiton with a complicated history. It seems as if this blind allegience to one side or another is adding more fuel to the fire. Once people start listening to both sides, then we will be on the road to peace. But, with everyone blaming either the jews or the arabs, nothing is going to get done. As with anything to do with the US/Middle East/terrorism, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN INNOCENT PARTY IN THIS ISSUE. NO ONE SIDE HOLDS THE TRUTH.

I don't think most Americans support isreal, only those in control such as the banking, media and film industy which, of course, is strongly Jewish. 90% of US citizens have never left the continental USA and some of those have no need to look beyond its borders. The US is a self-contained parochial society with a cadre that believes they are occupied by zionists just like the European Union. May be so, may be no.

Are are asking that question as in why don't they support the palestinians killing all those innocent man, women and children and bragging they are deliberately targeting Israeli schools?
Apart from a small number of Arab states that support Terrorism such as Iran and Syria there is not a government in the world that does not support Israel in its struggle against these murderers.
The Palestinians were offered their own state and 95 % of what they wanted and still would not negotiate.
It is not so much countries supporting Israel but more that right thinking governments and the vast m ajority of thinking people oppose the terrorist and murderers who prey on them.

In the middle east there are over 40 Arab/Muslim countries a lot of which are non-democratic and hostile to the west. The Jewish people of what is now Israel have been ruled and persecuted historicly by Islam and now that they have their own country still they cannot be left in peace by the Muslim communties of that region. Israel has a democratically elected government who are trying to interact with the rest of the world on a completely global scale as every 1st world country should and yet they are terrorised daily by their neighbours. I agree that they are overly heavy-handed in their tactics with dealing with the Palestinians (amongst others) and that there is a lot of work to be done in that area of the middle east but I can completely understand Israel's point of view that they have to stand up for themselves and if America can see that there this injustice in this historical treatment of a people as can Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, Russia and many others then how many countries will it take for a point to be proven? Democracy and progress must be given a chance and not be allowed to be terrorised by people who think that they have right to wipe out others in the name of "religion".

I believe the majority of Americans are Christian, but I think the world supports Israel and puts up with their mistreatment of the Palestinians because they feel guilty they allowed the Holocaust to happen.

To many in our continent Israel is a mount of dust and olives made oil, it is unimportant and gets no support but some aid on behalf of palestinians, who most to apreciate. Now planes and other guns are bought, not given, and they have many dificulties because they are not many and like to attack and wage war against common population of Palestine. Many think it is politics to be kind to israels, yet it is for the petroil nearby, not for the people. They are meddlers and poverts, curiously no one raise funds for these people, unlike Egypt or Guatemala.

Certainly not. Not many people are jewish in America, about 6%. Most of that 6% are non practicing. Israel is/was supported because of the horrors of the Holocaust.

No. America needs to support israel to make sure that christianity continues to survive in that region. Remember. Christianity considers Israel as the birth place of christ and all christian doctorine stems from that region.
