I am running OS 10.3.9 on a Mac iBook. I already own MPEG Streamclip 1.7, VLC Media Player 0.8.4, Quicktime 7.1.2, iMovie 3.0.3, RealPlayer 10.1.0. and Windows Media Player for Mac 9.0.0. Will any of these do the trick? I'm trying to avoid buying still another program, like Adobe Premiere Elements.

You will need a cable that will connect your VCR to computer and then try any converter software you will get results or rather the easiest thing just go to some shop and they will do it for you for some cheap bucks

Ohh, well they'll work.

However what you need is hardware. Something like a video converter card. These are offered in to forms, one that fits into your video card slot (ruled out because you use a notebook) and the other a USB/FireWire extension card. I'm not sure what the retail selection of these are for Macs, however large manufactures like ATI, Pinnacle should have at least a few lines that are compatable.
