Men have affairs to add excitment in their already boring marrage, and it also gives them a feeling of being wanted by someone other than their nagging wives. I'm not condoning it, but ladies need to quit the nagging.

No offense to either gender, and above your Q was a similar one.

Back to gender however. Without caring, or taking the time to check stats of alleged situations, what causes you to not state that both genders are capable of such, and though not proportionately so,,,,perhaps,,, I can analogize it to theft.

If I steal a pack of gum,,,am I not guilty of the same basic crime, as if I had stolen a bucket load of money,,,no matter my gender???

Your Q is inane, and no real offense meant but without research.

"Nagging" is relative and subjective, and its definition only thought accurate by the one who feels they are being NAGGED. Isn't it possible,,for am abstract example, that someone in this situation ISN'T NAGGING??? IE:

"Honey,,, the hamper for dirty clothes is right there, and has been for many years. The lid is even open, so that you can drop dirty clothes into it,,,WHICH BTW,,you expect me to launder. Would it be soooooo difficult for you to drop the dirties into the hamper, rather than on the floor next to it???? OH wait... we can make it a game....YOU can pretend you're a famous basketball star, and you are about to SLAM DUNK your dirty T shirt.???"

I realize that was very gender specific, but do ya get the point???

These are small minded men that should not have made the commitment to begin with. It is a case of immaturity and weakness on their part. Sometimes it may be a case of ego and that "I still got it" victory cry for the middle aged. As far as the "nagging wife" comment that may be very true of some relationships but at least have the respect and decency to discuss the issue with your spouse and at if that does not work then get a damn divorce. Having an affair is not the only way out of a nagging relationship.

I'd say if she would then she is extremely lonely, bored, looking for an exciting new lover, and unattracted to her husband. Her husband is probably buried to his eyeballs in work so he ignores her, got to be best friends with the TV, doesn't compliment her anymore, takes things for granted that she does for the household, put on a little weight, doesn't use that nice cologne he used to, lost that romantic way about him, never takes her out, blah blah blah.... But the other married man has one fault that yours doesn't and thats being a rat! Yes new sex is tempting but not worth it. Good luck

I believe that the reason that this happens is not so much the sex, but the relationship that happens between the man and his new love. Sometimes there is too much stress at home and the man finds it easier to talk to a stranger about it than it is to talk to his wife or long term girlfriend and this leads to an affair.

If men would take a more active role in the marriage and not leave everything up to the woman to take care of then maybe the nagging would stop.

A marriage takes compromise and sacrifice. It tends to be the woman making all the compromises and sacrifices and the men get mad when they're asked to pitch in.

Married men simply get bored and have the need for "excitement" and someone paying attention to them without the pressures of "taking the garbage out", "washing the car", "picking the kids up from school", "starting the dinner, etc." .
Men like to be romanced and paid attention to. Likewise, women enjoy the same shower of attention.

Married spouses need to make each day exciting and keep the romance in their marriages without looking outside the marriage.
Married men and women need to attend to the personal needs of their spouse and make the time availability for each other to do things you enjoy together, to share time, talent and energy in re-discovering each other daily. Who knows??? You may find yourself falling in love with your spouse all over again without looking at some office bimbo to make you feel alive again.

You don't think some ladies are having affairs on their control-freak husbands?

Top reasons:

1. Sex - it's just sex for them, or they are unfulfilled at home.
2. Ego - "I can get away with it, so why not".
3. Trophy hunting
4. Excitement - it's like having a new toy.

I'm confused. Don't most people who post questions on here want other people to submit the answers? You seem to know it all already.
