I have watched many films and whenever there is a drug buying scence the person who is buying the drugs asks the drug dealer........ are you a cop? because if you are then its entrapment.
So if i buy drugs from a cop and ask him if hes a cop then i wont get in any trouble? i have seen this in movies such as blow and a few i cant recall.

If an undercover APPROACHES YOU and completely facilitates the deal, then it is entrapment, regardless of whethere you ask them about being a cop. Any idiot fresh out of law-school could get the charges eliminated, most judges arent very fond of zealous cops that are out harrassing taxpayers and voters.
Examples:
1. Youre on a crowded street with your associates and youre already holding some weed. An undercover approaches you and asks to buy some dope. You sell him an ounce of skunk for 80$. You would then go directly to jail, in this situation, youre completely f*cked.
2. Youre standing on the street and youre not holding ANYTHING illegal of any kind. An undercover then approaches you and asks if you have any weed. You tell him "No, but there are several people around here that probably do". The U.C. then works with you to actually facilitate the deal and make it possible using HIS money, not yours. You then get arrested....
In situation #2, any lawyer could get the charges dropped in a matter of minutes. Moral of the story: Do not sell to those with whom you are not familiar.
