Tranquilizers (prescribed by a vet) for the airplane trip for sure. As for riding in the car, make sure the carrier is on the floor and/or try to cover it (be careful she can still breathe) so that it is dark and she cannot see outside. Don't feed her on the day she is to travel, but make sure she has plenty of water. Good luck.

A cat carrier is always a good thing. Wear an old tshirt you don't care about for a night, and put it in the carrier. Your cat may cry for a while, but your scent from the shirt may calm her a lot quicker. If she still freaks out, get some kitty tranquilizers from the vet & give to your cat as directed.

Contact your vet and get them to prescribe you some tranquilizers. Two years ago I drove from Oregon to Georgia with two cats in tow, and it is a good thing I had the tranqulizers for them. It made the trip easier on all of us. If you don't want to go to the vet, check out Petsmart, they have products that will help calm your cat also, but not as throughly as what the vet can provide.

Call your vet and tell him your problem. He may have some anti-car sickness for your tabby to take before you drive him to NYC.

Sometimes vets can give the cat something to relax them before a trip.
Another thing would just put her in a cage that is easy to clean out.

cats easily get sick in the car but also if you take him/her for a ride often enough (once a day) with a time they feel just fine riding your car. It took about a week for my cat to get used to the car ride.

I think there's something your vet can prescribe for car sickness for you pets.
Just like there's something for motion sickness for humans, I'm almost positive there's something for animals.
You just have to get it through your vet; there's no "over-the-counter" stuff or home remedies.

Ask you vet, he/she might be able to give you Dramine (I think that is how you spell it) for your cat. They also might suggest a baby medicine the you could give your cat.
