"A group of 43 influintial opinion leaders-including Alan Keyes,Phyllis Schlafly,David Horowitz,and swiftboat activist John O'neil-have signed a declaration,pledging to withhold support for ANY candidate,democrat or republican, who votes for legislation providing "amnesty or a "guest worker" program for ILLEGALS!!! The members,say the immigration bill passed by the Senate,and a plan proposed by the House,which they call "amesty lite",are UNACCEPTABLE!! I no France is a mess, no illegal is going home on a guest worker program, once they get a job, their not going home to no job, that is a stupid program, Did you here President Bush this morning spreading the lie again, that Americans don't do the jobs Mexicans do, and saying that deportation is unrealistic, he really makes me angry. I hope that what their doing will help.

I'd heard a rumor, but not the details. What is amazing is that the litany of costs you mention are only the federally funded costs. Local hospital emergency room costs and education (by far the biggest costs to society) don't even seem to be included.

This coming election needs to focus on this issue. If an incumbent senator is up that supports amnesty I hope they toss them out on their ear....if just one or two amnesty candidate get beat on that issue it will wake up the rest.

They need to pay taxes! Just like the rest of us who also Work in THIS country! They also shouldn't be allowed any entitlements. The company's that r hiring these guys should be responsible for them, not our government!
