Unless you can be guaranteed 100% that it's absolutely safe and there's no chance of a mishap the answer is no. It should be no to a 10 year old, an 11 year old, a 12 year old, etc. How old should you be that's it's OK to lose a hand or your eyesight? I'm not an alarmist, every year there are hundreds of people maimed because of fireworks.

Yes under adult supervision. If he/she knows the dangers or fire and can handle them responsibly then it's shouldn't be a problem. I was about 6 or 7 when i lit my first firecracker, but my parents were there with me. I'm 25 now and children these days are a lot more irresponsible than we were.

No way known should you allow a child to light firecrackers, if you were a responsible parent, you would buy them an uzi machinegun with 10,000 rounds of ammo, and a box of handgrenades to play with, geeeez, what is it with parents today?

If the child is mature enough and understand how to light them in a safe manner then I would say yes, with adult supervision of course. My son is 6 and we let him light them this year with me or his dad standing with him, he did fine.
