A lot of people believe that Jesus was just a good teacher. But, what good teacher ever claimed to be God Himself? Countless times Jesus said that he was the Son of God. In fact, that is what got him killed in the end, which is not only shown in the Bible, but is a historical fact. So if someone goes around saying that they are God and they are not, obviously they are crazy, a terrible person, or are actually God. So why do so many people, who would otherwise consider themselves informed on the topic of religion, go around saying that Jesus was just a good teacher when it is simply not a logical option?

I agree with you 100%. It is impossible that Jesus was merely a good teacher or a great man. If someone claims to be God, either the are telling the truth or they are crazy or a liar. I don't know about anybody else, but I wouldn't follow Jesus if I thought He was crazy or a liar, and I surely wouldn't hold Him as a great teacher in that case. I choose to believe Him and His promises.

And also consider how He forgave sins. Some would say that He BECAME perfect or BECAME God by going to the cross, but only God can forgive sins and Jesus did that before He even went to the cross.
Also, He was prophesied to be God, see Isaiah 9:6 where we read of a not-yet-born baby being called Almighty God, Everlasting Father and a number of other names that were only ever used to describe God Most High.
By the way, good paraphrase of C.S. Lewis. Did you know he began as an atheist seeking to disprove the claims of Christianity, but then discovered that he had been wrong?

What good teacher ever claimed to be God Himself? Um ALL of the Ceasars of Rome.... ALL of the Pharoahs.... It was a common custom that if one were a leader of ANYTHING, that they claim to be THE Son of God (whichever God they profess to follow). That is not unique to Christianity. People did not consider their leaders to be crazy by saying this... they expected it.
As for being informed, read a history book... all of what I've just said is there. Or watch the History Channel... they talk about this ALL the time when they go into the archeology of Egypt and Rome, as well as other places.
And it's no sacrifice if he was God. Why would God sacrifice himself TO himself????? So, in other words, it's not logical to You. Doesn't mean because you don't find logic in stating he was just a good teacher, doesn't mean it isn't logical. Your argument is opinion based... and anyone can do that.

For some reason, people just don't get it. If you had 2 eye witness
written testimonies. You would definitely be able to convict someone of a crime. But the eye witness written accounts of Jesus's life are thrown out as here say and not fact. Some times it is very difficult for people to except fact the can't understand.

Because people are traditionalists, if their parents never believed neither will they. Jesus himself said that he was the enemy of tradition, so you can keep making logic work for you as the Israelies did or you can follow what Jesus teaches, but they ain't the same.

Jesus is JUST a human being, he is not a God and he is not the son of God.
Think and use your mind, if he is son of God then why god did get more than one child???

Sir Isaac Newton & Thomas Jefferson disagree with you. There are no "historical facts" in the bible.

I don't think I would have wanted to be friends with the guy. I mean, he made fun of his learned elders. He was subject to fits of anger and violence.
He curses and kills a fig tree for not giving him figs to eat... (when it wasn't even the season for figs).
Just look how the gospels portray him:
"Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.”
"I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a son's wife against her mother-in-law"
(Matthew 10)
Put this against Leviticus 19:3 ...
"Every man shall revere his mother and his father"

Correction--this is what the people who wrote the first few books of the new testament said. We really don't have any clue what Jesus said--just got to take their word for it.
