ok if i remember right there is a think tank in eugene, OR, USA (I might have the wrong city so sue me) they have taken a look at what the probability of evolution occuring and it is the eqivelent of a tornado going through an airplane bone yard and reassmebling a bowing 747.

P.S. darwins theory was bound to fail from the begining because you cant get matter and energy from nothing. The laws of thermodynamics, in case you need a refresher

You have to start at the present and work backwards. We're here in the form we're in, so we have to look at how we got here. If your example means we are the airplanes, then evolution would be the mechanics and enigeers who build the planes one peice at a time over a long period. Not some freaking tornado dumba$$.

Woah woah. You need to really define your terms here. Evolutionary theory today is MUCH different than the theory that Darwin posed. If you are looking to an evolutionary theory of the origin of our universe, that is also a domain that Darwin didn't touch. If you want my answers to your questions (which were presented as statements) here's my attempt.

1. The think tank would probably not take into account that the universe is infinate. Infinate universe = an infinate amount of possibilities and the probability of evolution being succesful on this planet may be as remote as it was suggested, but the probability of it happening at all, in general would be very likely in an infinate universe with infinate possibilities. Even if you don't believe in an infinate universe you can asume that there are billions of planets, thus making the probability less remote than the example you gave.

2. There is an argument in universe evolution that the big bang created the universe, I asume you are aware of this theory. It has been defended fairly well over the last few years. People also argue that the big bang that created this universe was only one in an infinate series of big bangs and 'big implosions' making it a cyclical collapse and expansion. Thus going with the second theory of thermodynamics.

I really think you should learn about the subjects that you are writing about BEFORE you write about them. What you are saying makes no sense...think about it!! The tornado analogy makes no sense at all because that isnt even remotely like what occurs during evolution. For example...look at the Galapagos Islands. It is the only place in the world where there are Marine Iguanas and Finches that feed off of the blood of Blue-footed Boobies. Why? well the theory is that Iguanas were washed up on the shore of the island thousands of years ago and since there was none of the normal vegetation they feed off of growing there, they had to ADAPT to survive and started feeding off the rich algae that grows on the rocks in the ocean, when they started doing this their bodies had to adapt so that they could get their food more efficiently and cope with the salty water etc etc. So after many many years of this Natural selection, environmental selection, sexual selection etc..they diverged from thier ancestors on the mainland and became Marine Iguanas.....with a shorter more rounded snout to help them crop the algae they eat, darker coloured skin to absorb more heat from the sun so that they could stay warmer longer and thus survive their trips into the cold water, more aquadynamic bodies so they can swim better, and also they developed a method to lower the salt content in their bodies from swimming in the salty ocean, they squirt concentrated salty water out of their nostrils after swimming, and also they developed more effiecient lungs so they could stay underwater longer while they graze. How is this like a tornado?? What a stupid comparison! Evolution is the process by which animals adapt to different environments or towards a more efficient design it doesnt happen overnight but it does happen.....The proof is around you every where, Change begets change no matter what you call it. Read the paragraph below it might help you understand......

Between 1842 and 1844, Charles Darwin outlined his theory of evolution by natural selection as an explanation for adaptation and speciation. He defined natural selection as the "principle by which each slight variation [of a trait], if useful, is preserved". The concept was simple but powerful: individuals best adapted to their environments are more likely to survive and reproduce. As long as there is some variation between them, there will be an inevitable selection of individuals with the most advantageous variations. If the variations are inherited, then differential reproductive success will lead to a progressive evolution of particular populations of a species, and populations that evolve to be sufficiently different might eventually become different species.

Show me your calculation for the probability of evolution occurring,You can't. . You always see these wild claims for probabilities but they either never show the calculations or when they do they make ridiculously wrong assumptions.

Evolution happens, get over it. The fact that creationists lie and make wild claims of probabilities means nothing other than the fact they are innumerate or dishonest or both.

Last I saw theists were the only ones claiming matter and energy were created from nothing. Many atheists either claim matter and energy is eternal, or are based on something else more fundamental which is eternal.

Besides which The first law really says the total amount of mass/energy is constant. The fact gravitational potential energy is negative means that mass and positive energy can form as long as it is balanced by equal and opposite gravitational potential energy. The fact the universe is expanding provides a huge increase in gravitational potential energy which may in turn balance matter and energy forming during rapid inflation.

Yeah, you can find a "think tank" of wet brains to corroborate just about any nonsense.
What is it about evolution that fundamentalists find so hard to grasp? Why can't zealots understand that God might have chosen to create a system that results in diversity, is resilient in the face of changing conditions, and can create new and wonderful life forms?
Evolution happens, Braniac. Accept it. There is no question that evolution occurs, at least among those with CNSs more developed than notacords. It is called a "theory" only because we don't know PRECISELY how it works.
I hope this clears things up for you a little. But I doubt it.

If I could be frank....
The theory of evolution is the dumbest, most hindering theory of history.
I mean, even if you don't want to believe in God, how could you be so naive to believe in such an impossible theory? And the thermodynamic laws are nothing compared to irreducible complexity we see, as well as amazing structures like the eye. To believe the eye evolved once, is sheer stupidity, but to then say it evolved many times (vertebrates and arthropods etc.) is just to bend stupidity beyond the limits. But I understand that on the SURFACE evolution looks possible, and this is why so many are duped into believing it, but if you do believe in this ridiculous theory, PLEASE study it out a little bit!!!

In the beginning there was nothing, not even time... nothing started to spin around and round...nothing caused big bang..and that boom resulted everything...Something was named Matter by everything...Matter was mindless and its only friend was a Change...sadly a Change was blind.. so mindless Matter and a blind Change created ( ooh, or should I use the word "created"...) universe..many many Galaxies..filled with all the wonders of the universe...order, life, beauty...and the result was a cosmic master piece...

And evolutionists get mad when we call this a theory...hello!

I think that creation theory is more sensible. Life, even in bacteria, is too complex to have occurred by change

Of course you can't get energy from nothing. That would be stupid. See that big ball in the sky? It's called the sun. It provides us with LOTS of free energy. The "laws" of thermodynamics as you call them are NOT laws, they are theories. you are referring to the 2nd theory of thermodynamics. The one having to do with closed systems (all closed systems go from order to disorder). But this solar system is not a closed system, it's an open one.

Putting to rest yet another brainless argument by creationists liars.
Go back to school sonny, you slept through science class...

What does Darwin's theory have to do with getting matter and energy from nothing? All Darwin said when he spoke of evolution was that those who were weak or otherwise unfit to survive would die or get eaten and those with superior traits would survive, breed, and pass those traits onto their offspring, who would also be successful. What does that have to do with thermodynamics?

I love how these 'scientists' can throw out numbers about the probability of something occurring with no evidence to back it. I could also say the same same thing about the Houston Texans winning the Super Bowl this year, but that would not make it scientifically accurate. (although it's probably pretty close LOL)
