Not everyone hates the War in Iraq. Haliburton certainly loves it. So do the oil companies. And Boeing and Northrop-Grumman and a lot of other Bush campaign contributors.
You want to stop the disease of terrorism? You have to starve it to death by removing the focus of the hatred that drives people to become terrorists. We have to start being the good guys again: the ones that follow the Geneva Convention, the ones that do more than guard oil lines, the ones that don't hire thugs who shoot at civilians for entertainment, the ones that don't rape local women & kill their entire families, the ones that don't torture whomever we feel like, etc. We have to be better than the terrorists. Only then will terrorism become fully understood as the real enemy by Iraqis and the rest of the region, rather than the enemy being the foreigners with guns and bombs who don't seem to be leaving any faster than the colonists did.
Oh, and Africa has become a very big breeding ground for terrorists. Why haven't we invaded places like Sudan and Somalia? *coughNoOilcough* Just something to ponder.

People are mad about Iraq for a few reasons. Note that these reasons are in no particular order
1) WMD: Bush overplayed his hand and ended up being mainly wrong. He never should have said Saddam had an active WMD program and was making more and that they were a gigantic threat. The American people have a sense they were lied to by the government. He played up this reason and largely ignored other ones, so people's minds are stuck on it.
2) Casualties: The media has been overplaying casualty numbers and people are pissed about it.
3) Progress: Fairly or not, people perceive a lack of meaningful progress in Iraq. This is largely stemming from the media but also from President Bush's personal failure to explain his goals clearly.
4) Justification: Many left-leaning people feel the war wasn't justified from the beginning.
5) Cost: The cost has been high economically for America and when you combine this with the fact we alone have paid for most of it and have gotten little immediate results, well people get mad.

I agree that the "coalition" needs to be there to stop the tide of Terrorism. A government that allows people to live and work in peace without fear of reprisal worshiping a different religion, or having in independent thought, or enjoying their own culture is beneficial to not only the citizens of Iraq, the middle east, and the world in general. Nobody is going to abolish Religion, that just isn't going to happen anywhere around the world, so the answer is to encourage democracy.

Congratulations on managing to spew out a condensed question that contains more prejudice and misconceptions than a valid topic.
Firstly, you can't STOP terrorism, you can only fight it - so long as there is a difference of opinion, there will be people who think violence is the solution to their disgruntled state of mind. Secondly, democracy is not a viable solution for the Middle East because these states do not have the separation of powers the way we do - and even then, would you say that the US cannot be a democracy because of the presence of religion...?

I'm not some peace loving tree hugging hippie. If we invaded N. Korea tomorrow, I would completely support it. They fired missiles that could have hit this country. A direct threat.
Iraq on the other hand - I'm back and forth on it. On one hand, in ten years, if this war is a success, this world would be a better place. On the other hand, it's quit obvious Bush sold this war knowing he had to twist some things, and when people figured that out, they lost a lot of trust in him. How can you trust the actions of a president who you don't trust in the first place?
And people, get a grip - the president, whether he believed their was a threat from iraq or not - did chose carefully the information he disclosed to get the people to agree with him. But he was selling the war to the american people and that's what a salesmen does, so why is it so surprising he picked out the good parts.

Because we are going to lose the war. Since america is not behind our cause we will never have what we need to win. I cant stand the fact that people want to let terrorism go on by us leaving.
