if u really wanna go off off road JEEPS are the sh!t. i rode a test jeep and it was able to go thru 3 feet water,and at a 45degree angle and tons of other stuff.

You should look into the mountineer, They have wonderful rebates plus you will find they offer more options for less. They drive like an Esclade. The new ones have the third row seat at no charge. Try it. My father bought a Pathfinder, very nice but with any options it will run you about 40k.

You coulds probably find a Nissan Pathfinder for about that much. They are excellent off-road. I had a 97, and took it deep into the woods, sand, etc. It was great.
Jeeps are good off-road too, but they suck on-road.
