China and Russia had good trade relations with Iraq before the war. It is likely they got a lot of under the table money from Saddam which is why they didn't participate or overtly support the war - but they were hard pressed to stop it.

The middle east benefits from the higher energy prices, Hugo Chavez does in Argentina, Mexico does as an oil producing nation, and I suppose Russia who sits on some of the worlds biggest oil reserves - but not China so much.

China does have close ties to North Korea but they get very little from NK; and they are also close to Iran - and probably want to keep that oil supply in tact.

the WAR against Iraq is to fool American and rest of the world. it has nothing to do with anyone. its about arrogant democracy. Now think about higher oil prices.. who is going to get benefited? companies like Exxon Mobil and Shell. these companies have reported billions of dollars in profit.
Take a simple example, These companies have millions of Barrel in reserve with them. When price goes up who is buying crude oil? developing countries like India and china. on the name of international oil price, gas price in US goes up to $3 while their actual cost of producing it has never changed. after few month, oil price falls down and these big giants buys it again at low price. price of oil has nothing to do with demand and supply. its simple way of taking big share out of your pocket!!
