No one can say it is right or wrong and sinful to be gay, or to be Buddhist, or to be a gay Buddhist. You are who you are, and this should be acceptable to everyone, as long as you are not forcing your beliefs on anyone, or denying anyone elses beliefs and sexuality. In fact, Buddhism may be just right for you, as Buddhism is quite beautiful and gentle, and so too are most gay people. I am not gay nor Buddhist, and people please forgive me if I have said anything wrong to offend the religion. I do believe that Buddhism does not judge people, and helps them to understand their true path, mostly so they are ready for the next life. I hope it brings you peace and acceptance.

This is a trick question. "Wrong" and "sinful" are moral and Christian-based terms. If you are not using them in that way, then it is necessary to define what you mean by "wrong" and "sinful". The word "wrong" is so vague (no clear definable meaning), that any answer is merely subjective.

"Sinful" on the other hand is quite ambiguous (multiple possible meanings) and could call for a very long answer.

However, if you are a Christian, then you already have an answer (yes-going straight to hell). As far as from a Buddist perspective, there is no "sin", but there is wrong action (and speech and thought), which relates to causing others harm. Thus the short(er) answer from this view is that being gay is not "wrong" and "sinful"; and being buddhist is naturally a good thing. These are both empty in essence anyway, so it doesn't even matter what label you apply to your self. Being attached to these labels of self can potentially be a problem, but that is another issue altogether.

Perhaps, you can restate your question more clearly to get at the true answer that you are seeking. No matter what you 'believe' however, your essential (true) nature is inherently good, so there is no problem at all.

Both require that you deal with thinking for yourself and making up your own rules as you go along. Both are about the individual, being a free thinker and not running with the crowd.

If you are both, I guarantee that you really had to deal with a lot of confusion growing up, there aren't any road maps in this culture for either being gay or Buddhist.

It is known that gay people have to be very creative early on to define their own identity. Buddism asks you to define your identity also, so you really are taking on a lot.

Marriage is a civil contract between 3 issues, a woman, a guy, and the authorities. it really is not a non secular situation. it really is not a count number of gay marriage being incorrect. it really is a count number of gay marriage not being marriage. not a count number of morality yet definition. The civil purpose of marriage is to guard the integrity of the nuclear kinfolk in civil society. If 2 gay human beings love one yet another and want a freelance the position they vow to be monogamous and to have all belongings in straightforward, I as a Christian haven't any difficulty with that, yet as someone who's professional-civil-society and custom I oppose playing quick and loose with the definition of marriage. as a outcome I desire the creation of civil unions with merely about all a similar criminal bindings and powers as marriage, do merely not call it marriage. My aspect is what different civil business organization are we going to redefine? Why not substitute the definition of regulation, or belongings, or man or woman? the most in touch right here keeps getting lost between agendas on each and every section. the only ingredient both one among those agendas have a tendency to have in straightforward as they run hard shod over the that technique of marriage is they both are extra interested in forcing others to have self belief as they do than they're in respecting the honor of persons and the price traditions of human civilization.

It is not wrong to be gay in any religion, some people may use their religion as an excuse for their homophobia and I am sure Buddhism will also attract such people, but to my knowledge there is no doctrine within Buddhism that could be used to say homosexuality is 'wrong'.
