My son is 1 he just turned it yesterday and he eats like crazy. Gerber has those pasta pick up and he will eat 2 things of those and then a jar of like diced veggies and a jar of diced fruit and a bottle of juice or milk. Before he even seems to want to stop is that to much. He eats most adult food well already i just used the gerber foods for reference to how much he eats. He eats three meals a day and then wants to snack all day. My two other kids are 3 and 5 and they never ate this much lol.

My daughter, who turned one in March, likes to eat a lot, too. I don't let her, though. I generally give her two things at each meal. Like for breakfast today, she had some french toast and half of a banana. Lunch, she had green beans and some mixed fruit. Dinner I'll give her one container of pasta pick-ups and some fruit or a veggie. If she eats it all, she gets a cookie when she's done. I do let her snack throughout the day, but I don't over do it. Snack is generally some Goldfish or Yo-Gos...no more than twice between meals and generally only once after dinner.

a baby's stomach is usually only as big as their fist. now let me ask you is he extremely active, or is all the food he's eating starting to cause him to gain weight, which end is he on the baby scale, at one year old he should be weighing anywhere from 18-22 lbs. depending on his height. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/growthcharts/set1clinical/cj41l017.pdf

if he's highly active he's burning extreme amounts of fuel, so his intake is going to be higher. but if he's gaining weight, if he's over 30 lbs., you might need to talk to his pediatrician and figure out a way to curb his eating before his weight becomes an issue.

it's good that he's got a meal routine, but it's your job to make sure he's eating foods that are going to benefit him and not hurt him. always make sure to feed him plenty of fruit and veggies. adult food is fine for babies, but remember foods like gerber or natures best have added vitamins and minerals that most adult foods don't. and those additives really give your child's body a leg up on growing healthy and strong. so just make sure that he's getting good nutrition and you can point him on the road to a healthy longer life!

Good luck!

My 10 month old daughter loves to eat as well. When she's full, she scrapes her hands across her try and knocks the food off onto the floor. It does seem like alot of food, but is he actually eating it all? Do you have dogs that could be eating it when it hits the floor? I would still talk to his doctor and get their input.

I'm sure they do. My daughter throws her food on the floor when she's done (that behavior is currently being corrected).

Just make sure that the stuff he eats, especially snacks are nutritious.

***My daughter loves watermelon, on the 4th of July she ate almost half of a 20 lb one through out the day.***
