I came over and met her. after the evening was over, i decided to leave and not spend the night. we didn't hold hands on the first date and kissed once. what should i do on the second date? what is a no-no on a second date? is there a mandatory checklist for the second date? when can i be myself and be a smart aleck and try to experiment with what i can and cannot do? how long does it take for her to determine to cut me some slack? clueless

You should be yourself from the get go...don't start off being someone you're not, then spring the "real you" on someone after a date or few...it's deceitful...and besides, if they don't like you for you, why waste each other's time?

As for when to make what physical moves toward a woman...you're doing fine re: first date...a little more physical contact wouldn't be inappropriate on a second date (hug of greeting, maybe a peck on the cheek or a closed-lip smooch, some body touching when walking side by side or hand holding)...you'll likely get signals from her that'll let you know to proceed or if you're going too far (she might turn her head from a kiss, remove her hand from yours, etc if she feels uncomfortable)...notice her reactions, if she's diggin' what you're doing then it's all good...

There is a part in your question about when you can be yourself....I think you should be yourself from day 1!!!!! If your date does not "dig" who you are, then you should not be together. Simple as that. Otherwise, just be comfortable and enjoy meeting new people. On your second date, do what feels right. Good luck

aww. you seem like a real gentleman. well it's a good thing that you didn't spend the night..and that you kissed her. girls dont wanna move to fast, but on the second date just bond with her. goof around, have a good time..see where it takes you. you can usually tell if a girl doesn't like you if she's avoiding eye contact or that shes not trying to start a convo. hold her hand on the second date to...just be calm : ]

OK it depends on how old u r and reading all that i guess ur a teeny... U should know what to do. Nobody can Tell u that. U know the person so u got to know. I think u wanna be with her so u cant act all the time and ask ppl what to do. Do what u think is right. I mean u see her reaction.

On the third date be your smart eleck self and let her see the real you. You may not get a fourth date, but hey, at least you tried.

Be yourself!

as far as what happens on the second date, just let things roll and dont do anything that is uncomfortable to you. If it is uncomfortable for her she wll say so.
