If the people we elect to represents us (the people) but they are not making wise choices why don’t we just keep voting them out when the term is up? It is seems strange to me that a lot of people will complain but do not vote to effect change.

I bring this up because I think that is sad that I live in a state where property tax is the highest and the “reform compromise is to raise sales tax and give property tax relief for one year and use the rest to balance the budget it is sad because I feel that there are very many way to balance the budget and cut state spending and not have to raise taxes. If I lived my life in the way of the state government (not having a buget and living within my means) the bill collectors would come calling and so why is there no fistcal account ability for the state?

yeah and this new budget.. guess what.. its good for ONE year. So next fourth of july the casino's will be yet again shut down and NJ looks like idiots for not passing a good budget.

There is no accountability, because no one is calling them out. The gov had the budget proposed *i think* 60 days ago, and the legislators didnt vote on it until the governor FORCED them to AFTER the june 30th deadline.

Its absurd, and now i still cant get my state income check, and I still cant go get my license renewed because it will still take 1 more day to open all this stuff. And so far over 6 MILLION dollars in revenue, just from the casino's has been lost.

From what I understood, the people of NJ did vote out the incumbent. Then the new guy turned around and submitted for approval to the citizens of that state a 2 billion dollar increase in the budget, oh and another tax hike to cover it. If it were my state I would applaud those who stood in front and yelled "Hell NO, Not another nickle"
