Do all Brits drink Earl Grey tea.
STOP LUMPING AMERICANS TOGETHER AS ONE SINGLE PERSON THAT HAS BEEN CLONED!!!
From a English guy that see's far too many people ignoring the fact that despite having an enormous population and an idiot for a President, that not all Americans are the same. Is a mancunian the same as a scouser? Is a londoner the same as a lutonian? is a Scotsman the same as a Welshman? and worse yet, is your neighbour a carbon copy of you????

I'm British...
the Americans love the southern English accent but mistakenly call it British. E.g. Jerry Hall's (I know she doesn't speak for all of the colonies) recent ex-boyfriend was the English adventurer, Benedict Allen, and she found his accent cute, as well as his typical English ways... I suspect that is why she has that show on MTV called "Kept"

Um... YES. Only sometimes they think it's either a) Australian or b) Kiwi... ;o(only happens out of the cosmopolitan cities, though).
I have a VERY British accent & spent 9 years living in the States. I couldn't even ask for a packet of fags in line at the supermarket without someone commenting or asking me where I was from.
The flip side is that you can litterally talk your way in (or out!) of most things! ;)
Cheers!

Possibly they like the BBC female accents.
The US males I've met in the past always liked mine, which was similar, as I sounded like the young Diana used to sound, since I'm from the same town;-)
Not sure if they like or understand, our regional accents though.
I like male US accents if they are not harsh, but I hate the constant use of Christ's name as a swear word which they started and spread around the world. Canadian accent is much better.
I have difficulty listening to female US women, especially when they screech so much. Though I must be careful here, my son's in love with a US/Irish lass!
