I have the same problem. I'd rather live with chaos and mess around me than sit there and do it.

So I came up with a simple solution: Don't spend too much time cleaning. Every 15 minutes or so, pick one task to do- When it's my room, first I do the trash in it. Next, I pile up all the things that belong elsewhere and put them away. After that, sort my laundry.

When you break it down into tiny intervals, it's not too bad.
Hope I helped!

I suffer from depression. I can assure you that you feel "lazy" because you're depressed. And it's not actually lazy anyway. Its apathy a symptom / side effect of depression.

Depression destroys motivation. Then again you might be lazy because you're lazy.

It's like the chicken and the egg question.

I would say you probably were depressed first, got lazy, then that depressed you more....

Stop being lazy for 2 weeks, if you feel better then you will have your answer.

Both. They feed off each other.

Only thing you can do is force yourself to do something. Get out, interact with people, best to try to nip this in the bud.

I thought it would just go away, but it got progressively worse until I had to have professional help.
