There are 42 chapters in the book of Job. God doesn't answer Job until chapter 38, in spite of all his problems. But God knew all that Job was thinking and experiencing.
Perhaps your experience is similar and, at the right time, you will know that God has been there with you all the time. Job came out of the experience stronger, and so can you.
God has said,
"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."
So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?"
Hebrews 13:5&6

We all face a time when we believe that God doesn't hear us. He hears every question humanity has for Him. He answers them all as well. Sometimes the answers we receive are not what we want them to be so we brush them off as not an answer. Sometimes he says wait. When the time is right we get the most perfect answer possible. Sometimes he says no, because He knows what we are asking for is going to do us more harm than good. And if we don't ask amiss we get a YES right off the bat. One thing we do is forget that sometimes our actions are needed in order for the prayer to be answered.
A known sin being cherished can slow down the answer to a prayer. ...... Have faith and trust in God's abilities to do what is right and perfect for you and things will work out.
If I had a better idea of the situation I would be able to give a more accurate answer to your question

Jesus even asked why have you forsaken me?
Read Why Bad Things Happen to Good People by Harold Kushner. He approached this question with all neutrality and not forsaking god.
If you don't want to hear it's because he doesn't exist, you aren't really open to answers afterall.
There are people in hideous conditions, children with limbs cut off with machetes in Africa; women gang raped by the police in front of their children and husband then they take the children and rape them and mutilate the father afterwards. Young women and girls ripped open and can't defecate or walk because they are so disfigured by the abuse. Where was god when they prayed?
The only explanation I have is that he is powerless or he doesn't exist because if he did exist there is no way someone who is "all powerful and loving" could stand by and watch atrocities such as this and not intervene...FOR ANY REASON OR EXCUSE.

He's always there when you need Him. you just need to keep praying. He wil for a fact answer your prayer. and He IS listening to you. God may not aanswer your prayer right then and there, but He will. just have faith that He'll answer. EX: say like a year went pass, and He still didnt respond to your prayer. you just have to be patient and keep waiting. now, i dont know what youre asking for or praying about. but just to let you know, if you're sittin` up there beggin and askin God for a new car or an iPod you want so bad when you know there's other important & serious things going on in your life that needs God's blessing, what do you think God's gonna do? Bless you with money for your new iPod, or help you accomplish or fix things that are going on in your life right now? Keep that in mind. God's just waiting for the right time and when He feels like answering. and also what's best for you. and like i said before, keep praying! it helps. =) you can always find Him. He's there in your heart, body, mind, and soul. and He'll never leave you alone.

Remember the Footsteps:
All through my life you walked with me, why is there only one set of footsteps at my most desperate hours?
God said, "That is because I carried you."
God can't just make it better for you. You have to learn how to take care of it on your own, or you will be in just as much trouble the next time it comes around. Life is about learning, even through the very hard times. Keep sight of the opportunities and remember all the potential that exists for good things. You are strong and God knows that.

You get the responsibility and the reward from solving your own problems because god only exists in your imagination.
That should make you stronger and more capable of being creative and competent. Appreciate your power and the ability you have to shape your life.
Imagine how you freely shed concepts of the tooth fairy, Barney, and other fabrications.
Now, celebrate yourself. Time to move up to the world of reality.

God is omni-present, meaning he is everywhere at all times...
the way i see things is that God does not answer prayers... we do... God gave us free will to do as we chose, to be responsible for our actions...
we must take our lives into our own hands and deal with things acordingly... we must forge our own path...
Do you think that a superior being that deals with the whole universe takes the time to do things for us microscopic peons?
If he did, then everything would be paradise...
dont stop praying for the divine, but heal yourself, find where you want to be, know why you want to achieve that state, and carry out whatever is nessecary to get there...
Good Luck!

Oh yea weren't you told? God is out drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette. He'll be back later.
Must have needed a break from all the whining and crying that is a regular part of being God

Kristin,
If you look at all of these responses objectively, you should be able to readily discern which ones care about you and which ones care about themselves. God cares about you, and is always ready to help you. Sometimes He responds through one of His true believers (like some of these answers), others through His Word. Still other times, He might come to your consciousness by speaking to your heart, mind, spirit, or even audibly. I hear/see Him in dreams and visions sometimes when I really need help and am stuck not being able to hear in other ways. And it is true, sometimes He doesn't say a thing. . . just wait, be still (in your heart/mind) and KNOW THAT HE IS GOD. He'll come through for you, just believe and keep on believing!

Is it that you are not getting what you think is the right answer? Remember, sometimes God has a better plan than that which you have worked out for yourself.
You must get His Word into you before He can speak to you. The Bible is the words God uses to speak to us, so if you don't have it inside you, He can't talk to you.
