I think religion is like ancient laws. I think we as modern civilization are questioning the Bible so much is because we are growing into a more scientific world and so we want to find a solid answer to "the Big Bang" and other things science is trying to answer that the Bible does not really tell us. I think that we have room for both and they should work together to see if we can find an answer no matter what the question is.
Both religion and science should be respected for trying to give us the truth. Science has saved many lives and giving us longer life. Everything must evolve to a higher level or we would become obsolete. Religion is from a different time and maybe it has wisdom but it is told in stories and incomplete stories. "theory" is not the answer for a lot of people they want scientific proof.

Religion sucks... for the most part. There are some good teachings within the different religions *Treat others as you want to be treated* etc... But Organized Religion is nothing more than big business and not really worth getting into.
the Bible, especially the Old Test... was written by tribal people for tribal people. Would you take any primitive religion and try to apply it today? None of them are scientifically correct... they weren't written as science textbooks, so to compare it on that level is rather silly. These are the opinions of primitive writers of how the world came to be and why it came to be that way. Only people who are power hungry use these things against other people as if God were writing it himself. They will say all men are sinners, but seem to leave out these writers... ^_^

I think religion is necessary, the definition of religion is Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. Although i do not think that the bible has much to do with Religion in general, just catholocism, or christianity. Without religion, we are empty and have no real reason to strive to be better. Please to not conceive me as a preachy stifling straight; i have no idea what i believe in but so far i believe in me because that is all i have for sure, and even that is not for sure. I believe that whether we like it or not mankind needs to believe in something because without a cause to continue living in a good and fulfilling way, our society would deteriorate even moreso than it already has.
I believe that before you can have religion or spirituality you must first believe in yourself. Similar to the belief that in order o love another you must first love oneself.
by the way if this does not help please disregard it because i am just as lost as the 6 million other people on this earth.

Religion is a mental virus that exists for the sole purpose of spreading itself.
The Bible was written by primitive ancient men long before the dawn of modern science. Why would you expect it to have accurate science in it?

It goes against science because it is a hot load of crap written by retards in the old days trying to explain things they couldn't understand. Kinda like how the Greeks explain the origin of fire - some dude stole it from the gods and gave it to us. Oh, and that story about how the tiuger got its stripes. Same BS.

"Sceince answers questions whose beauty is that they have no answers" i heard that phrase in a movie once and it kinda stuck with me. I think religion is hope. hope that there is something else out there and that everything we do for a reason. Hope is strong and yet...empty...there is nothing there. There is no real proof about anything the bible says and faith makes us beleive it. Science however is shown. It is there. It exists. Wheras religion is but hope...a myth if i daresay...

I think religion came as early man's attempt to explain the events around him - what was thunder and lightning, where did the world, the people, the animals come from, what happens to people that hurt other people? As it got handed down from generation to generation, some got changed, some got garbled, some got so embedded in the culture so that it was viewed as immutable fact.

As a Christian, I believe Religion is the method by which "Fallen man" tries to make peace with God. What many people fail to realize is that religion is truly "man-made." what God intended for us is fellowship with Him. A relationship, not a religion which is merely man's attempt to appease God or "their god" for the athiest folk. Even among the deeds of charity, church rituals, sacraments, ordinances, church attendance etc., If you don't truly know God and your heart isn't right with Him...then it won't matter which church you belong to or what deeds you've done.
Adam and Eve didn't have a religion, they had a relationship.

Religion is an attempt to explain that which we have no explanation for currently. A rather far-fetched carried away attempt.

Forget religion.
Christ is the path of salvation.
Christ is the truth of God's Word.
Christ is the life eternal.
