The religion your speaking about is islam.Which says the if anyone doesnt believe in islam they should all die.Its quite different from other religions.Christianity is a choice. It doesnt force anyone to believe in it.But it tells you what happens to those who believe or dont believe. So,the reason they cant get along is because of different doctrinal beliefs.

P.S Islams "allah" is not christianities "god".Their Both Different.

The idiot who said Christianity is about choice is ignorant. I guess you forgot the verse, "I am the way, the truth, the life, no man shall come to the Father except through me."??? It's not just Islam; it's ALL the Abrahamic religions, including and especially Christianity. If Christianity was truly about choice, then modern Christians wouldn't feel the need to convert everyone, which leads me to the answer for this question. Not all religions proselytize; they could care less whether you belong to their religion or not. It's the religions that believe that their religion is the one, true faith. Anyone who says they'll kill you because they don't believe in their faith is an extremist; they are far and few between. Don't worry about them; it's the guys knocking on your door you want to share "the truth" with you that you need worry about.

because there are extremists everywhere u go. If doesnt make it a bad religion or any religion superior over the other tho- there is always uncertainity in the unkown and those that beleive that they know which is right and which isnt but the truth is no one of us is absolutly certain no one knows for sure and the truth is prolly in a little of every religion so openmindeness is the key.

I don't think that's true of all religions. One belief of Islam is that you will surely go to heaven if you sacrifice yourself in a jihad. They also believe that murder is acceptable under certain conditions (i.e.- spreading religion). Christians believe that murder is never acceptable. Actually, on second thought, some Christians believe in the death penalty, but that's about it. So I can't think of another religion besides Islam that promotes killing for the sake of expansion.

Because religion is a human system applied to what is supposed to be the relationship with the divine. Since the tower of Babel humans can't see eye to eye in mostly anything...
If man would stop trying to figure it out by himself and be quiet- really quiet - for a while, then maybe man could hear what the divinity has to say about a relationship with man.
If we would not base our "religion" on us, then maybe, we could learn to really see- and so to get along.

It's the nature of religion to spread itself by any means possible. Spreading itself is the only real reason religion exists.

Shintoism and Buddhism have survived in overwhelming peace in Japan. There have been one or two conflicts in the past, but there hasn’t been an institutional condemning of either religion from either religion.

Wow, what church did you go to to get that kind of idea? If you listen to what Jesus says and read the new testament it says for us to be a witness for Christ, Jesus never told his followers to kill everyone who disagrees. So its not "all" religions.

well, most of us had finally gotten to that point with the exception of the muslims. I don't know any other religion that wants to kill someone who does not believe their way, except muslims..

It's one thing to be religious and another thing to be a Christian. You cannot have the love of Jesus Christ in your heart, you cannot be washed in the blood, and still have the desire to harm people who do not believe the same as you.
