I know I just read that somebody arrested pleaded "not guilty," so i know they all don't stand by what happened.
However, it is quite sick that many Americans say this was a story fabricated by the "liberal" media to throw mud on the U.S. troops. I think too many American troops deem the Iraqis backwards barbarians or lesser humans compared to Americans, and that attitude would make it more likely that the U.S. troops treat Iraqis like they are animals. We already know that prisoners taken to Guantanamo were being tortured, which is a blatant violation of the Geneva convention. There are obviously men who join the military because they "like" war and violence and kicking *** on other human beings. They are brainwashed from bootcamp onwards to be killing machines for the government while they believe they are somehow "defending" the country, which hasn't happened since WWII. It is highly likely that American elitism and a hypermasculine code of behavior has created the kind of humanitarian nightmare such as the rape and killing of a 15 year old Iraqi girl and the murder of her civilian family. It's yet another disgrace to America, but too many Americans don't see this. They want the hard evidence over and over and over again. They deny the evidence. They keep scapegoating liberals. They are too afraid to face the truth. Then they wonder why do other people around the world dislike us so much. Read this for more evidence that Americans are not well liked anymore:

I haven't heard anything about him saying that what he did was the American way, and that the Military is proud of him, but if he did say that, it just shows how sick this guy is.
Nobody in their right mind will argue that raping and killing anyone, especially a child, is ok! But you have to understand that the majority of the US Military aren't like this! My husband, who has been in the Military for 20 years, told me last night that he would actually like to see this guy have to go back to Iraq to face these charges. He said because if he is guilty, he would probably be punished a lot worse there then he would back in the
States.
Though I believe this guy is guilty as sin, there has been no trial, so they haven't been able to prove anything yet, but I'll bet that when everything starts coming out and they dig a little deeper into his background, they will find that he has had some serious issues way before this ever happened. He didn't do this because he is a US Solider, and he didn't do it because he thought it was right and it was the American Way. He did it because he is evil and he thought he could get away with it.

you want to take the actions of one indevidual and say that that is america in a nut shell, I am sure that you have never heard of any other tragic events of this sort and that is why you would make these assumptions. I can ASSURE you that this is not the american way and to tell you the truth it IS better that he be tried in a federal court because if found guilty he ould be exicuted. What say you about the afgani men that decappitated american civilians or better yet the iraqi on iraqi murders, bombings, and slayings of women an children? nope you pick one guy out of the news that is messed up in the head and say oh this must be american people.....well thats not the case at all I am appauled by the actions of the united states government at this point and happen to aggree with you on the actual matter at hand however do not place me in the same catigory as that scum. thank you.

No it is not the American Way, I am ashamed of Green and those that watched.... He should be court marshaled. He WAS in the army when he done that, they allowed him out of the military so they would not have to punish him harshly. Which I am also ashamed of.... Yes I have read and watched some of what they have done to some of our own, and I think the ones that did wrong to our soldiers and reporters should be dealt with extremely, it does not give our troops even the sick minded one the right to do harm to a innocent woman or child. There is no excuse for what Green did and there is no excuse for the ones that just watched him and not stop him.... They should all be severly punished.... BTW... if the troops get that horny.... they have a hand....

No, this is not the "American Way"
IF this turns out to be true, then he will get what he deserves. So far, most of these types of things have turned out not to be true.
We do have a thing here in the US that says a person is not guilty until proven in a court of law. You care condemning a man without proof.
Now, think about this - it would be very, very difficult to mistake a 14 year old for a 20 year old.
And how do you know that the other soldiers "enjoyed watching Green"? You are assuming facts not in evidence.

No, it is not the American Way. I am ashamed of him, but I am PROUD of the US military and the men and women who fight for our feedom and safety. You should be too. I think it says something that he is NO LONGER IN US ARMED FORCES AND IS BEING TRIED IN CIVIL COURT. I am getting tired of leftists and the media making this sound like this is the only thing that is happening in US Military today. Lots of good things are happening. Our people are mostly good. I think this is a story blown out of proportion to make the American people give up. I am sick of hearing it. I think you and the leftists just want to find a way to harp on US military till the American People think we are just a bunch of Losers and give up.
This war must be fought, or you will pray to Allah, wear a berka, and say 10 prayers a day-the muslim way, or you will get your head chopped off. So grin and bear it. These things will happen with A FEW NOT ALL.
P.S. In world war 2 Russian Soldiers routinely raped women in the nations that russia liberated. That doesn't make it right but it is a lot more common in other nations.

WHAT IS YOUR DEAL WITH BEING SO ANTI MILITARY. IF YOU DONT WANT OUR PROTECTION GET THEN HELL OUT OF HERE AND FIND ANOTHER COUNTRY!! WE DONT WANT YOU HERE ANYWAY!!
(over 400 anti militray Posts)
As a retired military sergeant, i realize that the military is a subculture. Just as there are good and bad people in the civillian world, even though there is a screening process, some bad ones slip into the military. This guy was a bad apple, and the military should not be judged as a whole from his actions. If he is found guilty, he needs to pay his debt.
not to have sympathy on him, but rather an understanding of his mind; WAR IS TRAUMATIC. a person canont go day in and day out living a life of violence, seeing death on all sides and not be affected. again, not condoning his actions, but sometimes people snap. Those that come home will never be the same.
Pray for our military

If the alligations are true, I think that Green should in fact have the death penalty. I understand, fighting in war is one thing - but this WAS NOT part of the war. This is one very sick individual.
It's NOT the American way. I am American, and it's NOT my way. You are taking 3-5 soldiers and assuming that ALL Americans are like this. We are NOT.
NOT at all.
The others have not been charged as of yet - but - I am sure the matter is being looked at. They will not just let these guys walk if what the media says is true.

It's human nature 4 one person or group of people 2 do what they want if they are capable of doing it,not fearing 2be questioned n don't have the fear or the thought of their creator in their hearts.
Am not surprised though by these allegations or the confessions of Green n his utterance that it's the American way.
The Americans do much worse things than a girl been raped no matter her age. They capture, humiliate, imprison 4life n kill innocent people everyday,be it in Iraq,Afghanistan or some other country that they put their blood money into.
I think many like little Bush n his political zealots like/love if i should say what Green has done just like what the men n women in uniform in Iraq n Afghanistan do everyday.
And they are not ashamed BUT they are proud of the actions of their soldier.

Green and the others involved with him are not your typical American military person. Green and his cohorts were an anomaly...they are criminals who committed severe acts against others. What people need to consider is that the military personnel are a group of people from all walks of life, varying backgrounds and perspectives. It is just like any community...there are upstanding citizens and there are scumbags. It's not always easy to see those sociopathic personalities because they hide behind a facade of "normalcy". The phrase "It's the American Way" greatly disturbs me. We need to understand that it is ONE person's comment and not a true reflection of a lifestyle.
By the way, I am a veteran, as is my son. We have proudly served in the military and can say, with confidence, that Green's actions are NOT the standard. Hopefully, they never will be.
