Why do supposedly "educated" people argue that Creationism or Intelligent design are not scientifically provable when their favorite child Evolution is treated as a fact and taught in schools when it is still just a THEORY with a LOT of holes in it?

I'm not saying that I support the teaching of Intelligent design or anything, thank you very much you jerks who jumped to that conclusion.
I'm just posing the question becuase Evolution is given to school aged children as a fact without any meantion of the real fact that there are other beliefs ( the beliefs don't have to be taught, people just need to be aware that there are other factors involved ) that believe differently.

Hi, your right evolution is just a theory, and I agree that it shouldn't be considered a fact. However, since if you believe in creationism that shows you believe in a Creator- and are responsible for your actions. People who want to live in this world doing whatever their hearts desire, make themselves feel less guilty by saying there was evolution.

you have a good point about evolution being a theory, but you can not deny the facts. i am not saying we came from monkeys but if you look back 30 years ago the average height for man was 5foot 8 inches life expectancy on 50's now the average height is 6 feet and life has pushed over 70 years old. Yes one could say that is due to medical advances, but if we compare a humans thigh bone with one of the first human found it would be very much different. as one example. why were the thigh bones bigger in the past you ask? well early man was nomadic and always on the move and had to hunt to eat it took a much stronger frame to withstand that type of life style. fast forward to present day... man pushes keys on a key board and takes his lunch break and buys food he had no help in catching killing of cooking. I know we were created by a higher power. Please don't think the higher power was not smart enough to make us able to adapt so that we may progress to be more civilized.

"So God exists in accordance to cellular theory! because you won't be able to have a cellular pop out of not some thing!" Ever heard of the panspermia theory? :] that is a interesting one. also, i'd advise that you study up somewhat extra on evolution and organic selection. you shouldn't argue factors that you do not learn about. And as for the cellular theory component, I advise that you seem up the primordial soup theory. you word, all theories at the instant are not created equivalent. some are extra valid than the subsequent - the cellular theory is in protecting with actuality. The creationist theory, on the different hand, isn't. for this reason, I opt to take inventory in theories which have some variety of reason behind them. And enable's be difficulty-free - even if you've faith in evolution, the theory of creationism has no foundation truly by any ability. "isn't it humorous the way you're saying you do not worship some thing? even as truly you do worship technological know-how? a college situation?" Do you've faith that you've ten fingers? Do you've faith in the actual undeniable actuality that you've 2 ft, 2 eyes, and a couple of ears? No. Why? because faith in the presence of actuality is worthless. by using admitting that I actually have ten fingers, am I, truly, worshiping technological know-how?

It's not a "theory" in the lay use of the word, it is a scientific theory, which means that it is a hypothesis that has been proven with evidence. Since Darwin's original hypothesis of evolution, evidence (and lots of it) have poured in over the years to make it a scientific theory.
This is like a theorem in mathematics, are you going to argue that because it is a theorem that triangles have 360 degrees, it isn't a fact?

Because the science behind the "Theory of Evolution" adheres to the scientific process. Whereas Creationism is based on faith and interpreting the Bible literally, and Intelligent Design is just political propaganda that does not following the scientific process and tool for people who fear what they can't understand.

People use evolution over intellegent design because evolution has stood the test of scientific theory. It has been tested and tangible evidence has been presented to support "thoeries" Intellegent design has not been put through the scientific method. No tangible evidence has been presented nor been tested. You cannot teach something as science if it has not withstood some process of the scientific method.

This may because it is always referred to as a fact in school.
Not many people are willing to look at the evidence of the Cambrean explosion. Not very many people understand the complexity of the 'simplest' organisms or the intricate dependencies of one organism on another.
It is much easier to simply accept evolution than it is to really consider what the facts show.

There is boundless proven evidence for evolution. "Educated people" argue against Creationism because it is not, and never will be proven scientifically. Scientists studying evolutionary trends are hoping to understand the origin of our existence and apply those trends to help us prepare for the future. Evolution can provide answers, and is a valuable field for any student to study.

Both are basically theories (Creationism, and Evolution). However, there is much more physical evidence regarding Evolution
