The Holy Grail is the cup that Jesus drank from at the Last Supper. According to the legends of King Arthur, Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table go on a crusade to find the Grail. They are eventually successful, but the Grail is taken to Avalon, the mysterious island on which King Arthur is buried.

Before that ridiculous book, The DaVinci Code, we always thought the Holy Grail was the cup Christ used during the Last Supper. Supposedly some went on life-long quests to find the cup, but I always thought whoever cleaned up after the Last Supper probably just washed it and put it back on the shelf lol.
Some say it is the bloodline of Christ, which is sort of silly, since just because they had Jesus physical DNA doesn't make them holy in the slightest.
Some say there is no such thing as a Holy anything other than God Himself, and I'm in that category.

The Holy Grail has 2 answers.
1. The Grail is assumed to be the cup that Jesus Christ drank from at the Last Supper.
2. The Grail is also believed to be the statement from God in the movie "Excaliber" to King Arthur. "You and the land are one." As you are healthy, the land will be as well. If you are ill, the land will be ill. This was also represented by an ornate goblet from which the King could regain his health by drinking from it. It could also represent the cup of Christ bringing healing to the King.
Best wishes

The Wikipedia online Encyclopedia does a good job of telling the Holy Grail story.
Should it be believed? That is up to you.
Is there a better article to read? yes

The Holy Grail is an item I'm guarding until the right person asks me the right question. I'm sorry, but 'What is the Holy Grail' is not the right question. By the way, you only get to ask one question..sorry !

A myth. But it's either a cup that Jesus drank from at his last super, or its a blood line where in the da vinci code Jesus and Mary Matalin got married and had children and the bloodline is where people are related to Jesus. I was watching a program I can't remember about apparently it started of coz some bloke translated something wrong from some where not sure exactly so I think it's a myth.

According to christianity it's the cup that Jesus drank from at the last supper, according to Raiders of the Lost Ark it was a cup that when you drank from it gave you eternal youth but the most interesting theory which I go with myself is the Da Vinci code theory which is that it's the body of Mary Magdeliene the supposed wife of Jesus.

This is the cup Jesus used at the Last Supper. In post-Biblical traditions, Joseph of Arimathea is said to have taken the cup and collected some of the blood of Jesus from the cross, (a tradition happily omitted by Mel Gibson in his movie The Passion). In this tradition Joseph then brought the cup with him to Briton.
